Very disappointed in how it arrived. Toner was all over the box and all over the machine . . . so much so that cleaning it up was a terrible mess. I'll have to try to use some sort of cleaner to get the black stains off of the machine after my first attempt of cleaning it. Haven't tried to see what kind of copies we will get because of the toner mess. Need to find enough time in a day to finish cleaning it up and then testing the print quality.

I needed to replace my worn out fax machine for my small business. The dial buttons were sticking and it would not print any more. But I wanted the same Sharp model. It was hard to find, but Amazon had exactly what I was looking for! My package arrived quickly. This is a used fax machine, but works "like new". Back in business....Works great!

This fax machine was a factory refurbished unit which was defective when it arrived. Sharp first informed me that they do not warrant refurbished units, but when I called again, I was told to take the unit to a local repair facility and IU am styilkl awaiting its return or replacement.

I bought it to replace my other one (same company, same model) that I had had for many years. I love it and I'm glad it was still available.

It's stated that this is Sharp's "new" fax machine. Don't believe it - we've had this machine for years and it's a serious under-performer.You have to stand by the machine to make sure your fax actually goes through. Half the time, the machine stops during the process and you have to resend the fax. The other half of the time with incoming faxes, it bleeps, and you get a "line error" message, and no fax.Unreliable at best. There's better machines out there and we've just ordered Canon's L90 fax/phone.

I have the UX-A1000 (basically the same fax, but in ugly greys) and that uses the same ink cartridge as the UX-B700. I found this when looking for replacement cartridges: "I had the dry ink problem also after not using for a week. I was ready to order a new cartridge but first I tried soaking the printhead in distilled water about 10 minutes. Do not soak the cartridge just the printhead. Place in about 1/8 inches of water. Now my cartridge works fine." -From http://www.amazon.com/Sharp-UX-C70B-Black-Cartridge-UX-B700/dp/B00008NOQ1/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=office-products&qid=1237988885&sr=1-1I plan to try it today, after I track down the bottle of distilled water we have hiding somewhere.

This machine worked great for a few months, but its ink dried out after I haven't used it for a couple of months, and I've only received/printed less than 50 pages total so far.I bought this equipment for only $80 from Costco, and I thought that I had a great deal at that time, but now it looks like I will be spending a lot more money on the ink cartridges than my laser printer!

I have had this fax for over a month now, and have few complaints about it. I am working as a loan officer out of my house, and therefore I don't need a high volume fax machine. For the money, this is a great little machine! It takes up very little space on my shelf, and it has an easy, intuitive usage set-up. It has the distinctive ring feature which allows me to not get a second phone line, and it has a very clear output. I can put 15-20 sheets into the feeder at a time, and I can load it up with plenty of paper. The complaints are as follows: the paper seems to jam up somewhat more than I would have hoped, and after a piece of paper has been jammed in the machine (even if it just has a small crease in the bottom of the paper), you really can't use it again unless you flip it over. Also, even with an ink-save mode, it seems to go through ink fairly quickly, although I won't swear to it. Finally, I really don't like that Sharp doesn't have any ink refill kits for this machine, forcing you to buy their new, expensive ink cartridges (...). I hope that will be corrected in the future.Otherwise, this machine certainly does the trick for the person who doesn't care about lots of bells and whistles. For the price, it's a great buy!
