When i received them the box was falling apart. When i went to use for the first time the clamp broke right down the middle. Were it broke their was rust from were it was cracked and then painted over. Would not recommend

These are represented as Shars brand. However, there are no manufacturer's markings other than a part number label on the box, so I presume they are generic Chinese economy tools. Individually they are very nicely made. Ground surfaces look good, the faintest vibration patterns can be seen if you reflect light at just the right angle. Dimensions are within ±0.020" of nominal. Grinding a small chamfer on sharp edges will make them more comfortable to handle. End and bottom holes are threaded 5/16-18. The clamps are very closely fitted. I had to sand the paint off the inside surfaces of one of them. I assessed the blocks as well as I could using a ground rod, surface plate and a tenths reading DTI on a surface gage. The V groove is parallel to and centered between the sides to .0002", and parallel to the base to .0002". However, they are not well matched. One block is .003" wider, and .005" taller that the other. I can surface grind them into shape, so I'll keep them. Even if I went to the bother of returning, there's no assurance that the next set would be better. One more thing, the box has simple miter joints rather that the finger joints as seen in the photo. I fumbled the box unpacking it, and now I'm re-gluing some of the corners. (Minor point. No-one would buy this set for the box.) One star off for misrepresentation, one star off for mismatch. (I'll let the weak box go.) However, since a premium set is much more expensive, I would recommend this set as a good value, if you can tolerate, or correct a small mismatch.
