I like the idea of this. Sometimes I put my lantern (and single burner stove) inside my trailer when Im out exploring, and I cringe when I hear the tank contact the vintage countertops or even the wood floor. This gives thebold lantern a softer footprint and also offers improved grip and stability. It fit my old model 200 lantern from the 60's, but was too tight for me to stretch over the tank of my dual-mantle model from the 80's. I might have been able to stretch it on with the help of someone holding the lantern but it would have been quite a stretch, and didn't seem right. I see now that there is a larger one available for the newer model 220 ! Cool!

If you have any silicone kitchen stuff like a hot pad or gloves, it feels like those. It's a soft velvety rubbery feel, it's extremely pliable. I originally wanted it for just protection of the base of the lantern/stove to keep the paint from chipping when placed on hard surfaces. But, after installing it on my Coleman 533 stove, I noticed I got a second important benefit from it. It grips the surface it's placed on and the stove doesn't want to slide around. I really like that because I use my plastic motorcycle luggage as a makeshift table and it works fantastic in that application. I would recommend that you take it off periodically to clean or dry the lantern/stove base. If you're transporting your lantern/stove in a fitted case the ring slips on and off in a couple of seconds.UPDATE: The more I use it the more I like it.

Slipped right on the bottom of my Coleman 533 Dual Fuel Stove like a glove. Gives a little more stability and protection around the base.
