While I really expected this to be a decent product, the remote is very flaky. I re-paired it with the receiver twice and it only randomly seems to work. I thought perhaps it was a signal interference problem and removed the tempered glass case side panel and even with a clear line of sight less than 2 feet away, more often than not pushing buttons does not register with the receiver. About 75% of the time nothing occurs. The USB port has power when the system is off and even when the system is turned on most of the time pushing buttons on the remote does nothing. The light on the remote comes on when buttons are pressed, but the receiver does not acknowledge the button presses most of the time. The indicator light on the receiver does not illuminate as it does in the rare circumstance that it receives a signal from the remote. I changed the coin cell battery to rule out the possibility of a weak batter. The brand new battery did not affect anything for better or worse. I do not know which component (remote or receiver) is faulty. I am going to return it and get a refund because it does not function reliably.

My computer is shoved under a corner of my desk and the power button is hard to reach. I'm also using an add-on 10gb NIC so WOL won't work for me. I like it where it is though! This thing worked perfectly.

So, first things first... Ditch the instructions. They're awful and not worth the ink wasted to print them. SilverStone decided to blow up an image of the pin connections and they didn't use a high-res image, so it's all blurry and distorted in the included manual. You can actually Google for a clear picture, use that and not the wasteful kindling they threw in the box. (Extra padding, maybe?)Once you have the correct pins figured out, the installation is a BREEZE. It's a five-minute job if that. (Well, depending on the layout of your PC. If you have to move components/wires, it'll be a bit longer.)1.) Pull off the front panel cable (power/reset) and plug it directly into the board.2.) Plug the y-cable they included onto the pins where the front panel cable was just residing so you can still use the physical case buttons as well as this.3.) Plug the unit into the front panel USB header on the MOBO.4.) Plug the USB wiring onto another header or use the included adapter. And you're done. Before starting, however, make sure your MOBO allows power through USB while off or asleep. Make sure it has the S3 setting before starting. Otherwise, you're good to go after all of the physical labor.Comes with a battery, even! Powers on/off with one press and no waiting or messing around, even the reset button is instantaneous. No lag, and no gray area/middle ground, either. It either works or it doesn't, even less hassle in that department.I'd absolutely recommend this if you have a desktop PC, especially one being used as a HTPC. Sometimes you need to restart but can't find your mouse or keyboard (if it's wireless) this little clicker comes in handy.

So this kit comes with the Remote, Wires, the receiver and a adapter so you can face the receiver in 3 different positions. You MUST have a spare/open USB header on your Motherboard or this will NOT work. Also the adapter has 3 spots for you to connect to. This can NOT be used with anything else. I Tried to connect the transmitter to one slot and my USB to the other and it would not work, the transmitter and receiver worked fine but would not allow the USB to function properly. I do wish the receiver used a different method other than a USB header. Many modern Motherboards only have one or two USB headers and they are usually taken. So the receiver must be plugged in on its own. Otherwise its great, The remote works from far away and no issues with things being in the way. For the price its a great product!

Thought I'd add some information for this product. It works really well. Does what it is supposed.Installing is really easy. The female pins on the board need to be plugged into the USB header on the motherboard. It provides a splitter so you can still plug your case in as well. There are multiple angles too so it is easy to fit in most spots. The size is kind of big for my application but it is really just a small board that you put on your motherboard. I took a picture of it next to a ruler to maybe help others see how big it is.One thing I'd like to test eventually but is not all that important to me is if its signal interferes with other wireless devices on the same frequency. I would expect it to work fine but I can't comment for sure since I have no other wireless devices right now.All in all this is a really cool product that I am really surprised isn't more popular.
