I tried 2 separate items both had the same issue. Could not power up with both HDD installed. remove one HDD or both HDD and it would power up. Install the HDD after the power up and it would remain powered. Too much of a hassle to remove a disk, then power up then and install the HDD, The product comes with a usb 3.1 cable with usb-c connectors on both ends. My desk top PC does not have a usb-c port and is is less than 3 months since I built it. If you try this product, you will likely need a usb 3.1 cable with usb-c to usb-A connectors on it.

PROS:-One of the fastest docks available with the most up to date connection type.-For the drive slots, spacing is well thought out. For laptop drives, they have an extra lip that folds down (I would assume this is for when the laptop drive still has screws or a mount attached). Most docks don't accommodate for that.-Another point about the slots, the connection point feels like a good, tight fit.-The clone feature is a nice and easy to figure out. Be aware that according to the manual "Source drive (HDD 1) capacity must be less or equal to target drive (HDD 2) capacity".-Good looks. Aluminum body is a nice touch and feet keep the dock from sliding.CONS:-Does not support S.M.A.R.T.-Adding a drive to the dock while one is already docked will cause the first drive to reinitialize, stopping transfers or formatting. Same thing for removal. Drives do not work independently. Kind of makes the hot-swap feature pointless.-On the pricey side, but there aren't may dual docks with this connection type.-Cable is very short, so be aware if this is for a desk with a tower below it. Purchase the right cable if you need one and make sure its "USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C Gen 2 10GBps".-Power adapter is huge, make sure you have room on your power strip.-Can't clone to a smaller drive as mentioned above. That is common in offline cloning devices and may be some kind of limitation. That about covers it, now only time will tell.UPDATE:7 month later and still running strong. Gets a lot of use.
