These things are no good. I ordered two to connect HDMI between my GH5s(s) and Ninja V's and both failed. They intermittently cut out causing missed frames/shots and basically just don't work. Not worth the risk to your footage.

I am currently using a Neewer Cage, a Sirui handle, and a Smallrig HDMI Adapter. I found that the Neewer clamp did not provide the level of security I was expecting, so rather than purchasing an entirely new cage, I opted for this adapter. It integrates well, with both 1/4-20 threads aligning perfectly on the side of the Neewer cage. I hope this setup helps to protect the port on my FX30. However, one concern I have is that the port faces upward, which may allow rain to enter.

Improved design allows for both screws to mount cable to Smallrig cage for Pocketcinema 4K. HDMI connect points downward for better interface with external HDMI cable

So first off this is always on my camera I think it will save any issues I could have in the future with my HDMI port . I was on a shoot years ago and while on a 16 foot Jib arm a HDMI cable was dangling low and we were not paying attention and it snagged something a ripped the HDMI port out of the camera. We didn’t loose the ability to record but we could no longer see anything on the 17 inch screen. That was a shoot in Ron Jon’s. We still finished the shoot but could not frame our shots. If this was available back then that HDMI in the camera would still be intact. So in my opinion it’s needed. You can see the HDMI cable is pointing up on the left side of the camera. That’s how I have it hooked up and it helps me feel better that this inexpensive HDMI saver is there to protect my camera from and accidental rip out. I wanted to do this review for ages but could. Not as it does not have HDMI in its title. They may sell ore if they did :) highly recommend for your camera with a cage. One suggestion is make it flat and you can select flat front or back or up or down so it has zero stress on the camera as my cable is kinda forced into that position due to the only place I could put this on my camera . I would have chose the up position (in regards to the position of my hdmi port)

The cable's too short to actually wrap around to connect to anything so it just hangs there with the screws in it.

The cable section needs to be more flexible. They are too stiff! A more flexible cable would open up more mounting options on my camera cage.

I use it with my camera cage to avoid bended hdmi wire. Works great!

Wanted an HDMI connection point other than the one on camera to reduce wear and tear of plugging and unplugging HDMI cables. This worked perfectly on my rig.

As this cable is likely designed specifically for use with a SmallRig DSLR cage, the cable length may be perfect. However, I tried this cable mounted on top of my Panasonic EVA1 and the cable is barely long enough to reach. I don't like stretching cables as it could lead to wire failure, but I will see how this one goes. The prices is certainly affordable enough to give it a try. The design is simple, but I wish the two mounting screws fit into a slotted area instead of specific holes. I'm guessing the hole spacing is also for SmallRig cages and may not fit other camera cages or cheese plates.Overall I'd give this 5 stars for use with a SmallRig cage, and 4 for anyone trying to make it work elsewhere.

Totally fine if you are shooting 10 bit 24 or 30 fps but as soon as you go up 60fps this thing is useless. Clearly speced to get older 1.X HDMI data requirements.
