These hickory wood chips work really well and add a nice smoky flavor to cocktails. The quality feels solid, and the bag lasts a good while. Perfect for use with a smoker or smoking gun. Just a good product that does what it’s supposed to.

I'm an avid smoker and always looking for better pellets or wood chips I came across these and for the price I was like we will give it a try. These are extremely small pieces and realistically in a smoker they would probably burn up before you even had the chance to close the lid. If I put these in I don't think they'd even last for a whole smoke for a large piece of meat. These im sure would work amazing for a cocktail smoker kind of situation vs grilling. These smell nice and I still plan to try to smoke something with them in my smoker as I don't much have any other use for them!

I got these hickory chips for my whisky smoker and this should last a long time. The burnt well and gave out a nice hickory smell. The pieces are small enough to start the fire and burnt well giving off smoke. Worth getting

Great smoker chips for kitchen/ drink smoker box with smoke gun attachment. These are meant to smolder not so much burn. The smoke gun on a small smoker box has a pump that pushes the smoke into the box and keeps the chips smoldering. Light it blow it out flame and start pump. The chips dont really smell too strongly of hickory until burning ( pretty common of wood chipped this small ) They are quite aromatic when heat applied! This is a good amount for smoker gun which only uses couple oz (by volume) of chips. You may be able to use chips in smoker but only if you contain them in a metal container or foil pouch to keep from direct flame! They need to smolder properly. Wetting the chips may also help them smoke longer in that type of use, but large chunks really are recommended for long smoke times in a large smoker. These are great for our small smoke box for drinks , cheese , charcuterie meats etc.. we found a mini rack to put inside of ours so several layers of items can be smoked at once. Hickory is definitely a favorite! I would order these chips again - very happy with them !

These tiny hickory chips must be used sparingly as they pack a punch. We used them on a charcoal grill for steaks and the flavor was gigantic. Best advice is to start sparingly and adjust each time you use, but for the price these chips will go a long way.

These are super finely grated chips. I dont know if thats normal or if its for a specific type of smoker or usage.The other wood chips I have are much bigger.These have no smell to them in the bag.Just be aware of super fine sized because they are not what I expect for wood smoking.

I acquired these hickory wood chips to use as an alternate wood variety being available when making smoked cocktails. These chips are perfectly fine (as in size of chips) for this purpose and worked extremely well without being overpowering. The 5.29-ounce package is also a sizeable amount for providing a long-lasting stock of wood chips before needing to replenish my supply. Well, it is finally Friday and time to close out the work week with a smoked Manhattan. The smoke aroma was very apparent with a pleasantly light smoked flavor penetrating the drink. I will definitely be on the lookout of other wood chip varieties from this supplier. If you are looking for large sized wood chips, these would not be the ones for you.
