This card works great on its own. But there are some quirks and hard stops with other PCIE cards. When I added a 10g Ethernet card the system would boot. The default usb ports stopped working in bios because these ports took over priority somehow. When I swapped this card for the 4 port Sonnet USBC card all issues went away. It's like the number of ports is too much with other PCIE cards.

Not sure if our card was faulty, of we were expecting to much from it, but we plugged in all the power USB 3.0 cables and only 3 of the ports were active. The rig is a Ryzen 7 3700x so lots of power and the current card supports what we need but was maxed out. We thought this card would give us the extra, but it gave us less, and we had to revert to the old setupNot a great experience, but we are trying to run 6 USB cameras and this card was not the ideal choice for that

So far this card is running to spec in a 2019 Mac Pro with no problems. Very stable. The 8 extra ports are a real plus in this system. Very happy with purchase.

The whole point of a Mac Pro is to fill it with as many accessories as will fit in it. This card will give you a very useful extra 8 USB C 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) ports with 1.5A/7.5W charging per port. Note that it works best in a x16 slot of which there are only 2 in the 2023 Mac Pro, otherwise, the installation is completely painless and I've already filled all the ports without any problems to connect card readers, USB powered DVD R/W, SSDs, USB HDs etc...

The ports on this card are too close to the edge of the mac pro's frame. This is true for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE 8 USC-C PORTS. You might be lucky and have some cables fit in halfway -- far enough to possibly make a connection, but not necessarily a reliable one. But most cables simply won't be able to connect to any of the ports on either the bottom or top row.I stupidly did not read reviews for the 4-port card from this same manufacturer, but it is apparently a VERY common problem for mac pro owners. I'm here to confirm that the same is true for the 8-port version. Total garbage product with FALSE ADVERTISING.

I'm running a ASUS TUF Gaming 570-Pro (Wi-Fi) motherboard, and was in need of some extra USB-Cs for filmmaking data transfer, so speed was important. Something is weird with the motherboard though, and it doesn't allow you to change a PCIeX16 port into a PCIeX4 port. This device solved the problem that every other USB-C PCIe expansion card had with my motherboard. After 5 PCIeX4 cards, I finally bit the bullet and purchased this one sine it uses the full PCIeX16 slot and immediately worked like a charm! I don't know how fast these ports are exactly because I reach the drive's read/write limit everytime no matter what I'm doing. Fastest I've seen is 560MB/s, and it's never slower than the drive.
