Worth the read for 3rd gen taco!!!This box is seems built well but will not drop right in and fit 3rd gen Tacoma hassle free, meaning you are not just buying this box and throwing it behind the rear seats just by removing the plastic storage.The only thing on this box that fits well in the 3rd gen tacoma is the the length and cut out for seat belt anchor. It is too wide, you will need to completely remove the metal brackets for plastic storage compartment. These brackets are riveted to the body, once you remove those there will be exposed holes from the outside of vehicle, in-between cab and bed. I’m guessing you could cut them and do a clean job with proper tool but that risk would throw sparks and burning holes on interior of the truck. But that’s not it. I then had to flatten out the the brace that also holds the child seat anchors so I could get the top seat to shut and lock. I don’t know if I would trust the car seat anchors now.Another thing is this box is meant for an extremely shallow subwoofer, I don’t think any quality 12 in sub exist that would fit due to the short back spacing, we are talking like 3 in of room defiantly no 5, so I would recommend going to a shop and seeing what fits before I bought this, I tried to put a sundown SML 12 and would require like a 2 in spacer to fit. I will be honest unless I was really good with sounds like I had my own shop I would not buy this box maybe get the one for 8s but definitely not 12. I would not recommend this for any 3rd gen I went cheap and bought this one and paid for it in the end. Also the glue job was poor.

Installation isn't all that easy, you have to remove the seat back to get it in and once it is in, it is pretty hard to get the bolts back in to attach the seat. Installed in my 16yo's 2017 Tacoma. Used a Rockford p3 shallow Subwoofer. Way better sound than the small sealed box he had before.
