My house is cool and a little drafty so my sourdough starter was struggling. This fixed my problem and now I use it when I take my starter out of the fridge to activate it quickly. I can even set my dough bowl on it for a quicker rise. Extremely easy to use with great instructions. Great purchase for me.

I love this sourdough starter warmer! I can now officially cut down the growth time of my starter. My kitchen has multiple air conditioning vents that makes it take longer for my starter to rise. I love how I can accurately set the temperature on the warmer for proper growth. I also love that there is a timer as well so I don’t have to worry about continual heat and burn out of the warmer. There is ample space on the warmer for my starter jar which is of a large size. It’s easy to store away when I’m not using it. It fits easily into a drawer. This sourdough starter warmer works phenomenally well and I am very happy to have it!

Cheap plastic, buttons non responsive. Does not follow directions, which also don't make sense. So lightweight it is not surprising it does not work. Out of all the things I have purchased on Amazon, this is the worst. I was truly embarrassed when I gave it as a gift and my friend could not get it to come on. Shameful. Waste of money.

I've tried making sourdough starter previously, but my house isn't warm enough for the starter to grow. I ordered the Gisly Sourdough Starter Warmer 3.0 with Thermostat Control hoping that this device would allow me to achieve starter magic, and it did not disappoint. The warmer worked well with the tall glass jar I used to create my sourdough starter. I set the thermostat to 78, and I saw substantial growth on Day 2. This has been so much different than my previous experience! While the temperature selected does guarantee that the temperature in the vessel is the same, the warmer comes with a sheet that identifies the ranges that will be experienced depending upon the setting selected. I put an adhesive thermometer on the side of the jar to make sure that the contents were staying warm.So far, so good. I'm extremely happy that I ordered this item. Now that I've had starter success, my sourdough baking can commence!

Burnt out within a few hours on 16-18 c. Absolute rubbish. Do not buy. I am embarrassed I purchased but, there is always a first time. I am surprised for Amazon and sad I can not trust them anymore. ….and lucky it didn’t catch fire.

When I saw this, my first thought was: Wait, don't I have a number of coffee warmers that do the same thing? Well, I decided to get it anyway, to see if it made a difference with my starter.I have to admit I like it, it's heating is consistent and it has a small footprint on my kitchen counter. I've had no issues with the temp, you can set it to automatically shut off, and I like it.

I love, love baking sourdough bread when I have time, and sometimes, when the weather is cold, it can take quite a while for starter to bubble and dough to rise. I've never had a warmer like this and decided to test it when I was recharging my starter. The interface is simple and intuitive, though you need to decide what the set point is on the unit itself. The lowest temperature is 70 degrees, and that apparently translates into a higher temperature for the starter itself. I set it for 75 degrees, and within a short period of time, it was bubbling, at least on the top. (The "burner" itself was warm but not hot.) I left it overnight and never saw lots of bubbles farther down in the jar, but it was so active at the top, I have to believe it was fermenting throughout. The smell was right as well.I haven't used this for dough and probably won't--my breadmaking bowl is large and heavy, and the burner is quite small--clearly designed just for starter, even though another reviewer uses it for fermenting the dough as well.If you're looking to pare down the preparation time for starter, this is a good unit and a good price.

Our counters are so cold that this made a world of difference in our sourdough starter. It can stay on for 12 hours which is great so that I only need to set it twice a day.
