I’ve been baking sourdough on and off for a couple years now, and this little gadget has officially made my life easier. Temperature control has always been one of those things I need to manage, but this warmer takes the guesswork out completely.Setup is simple. And the quality is good. The thermometer strip sticks to the jar, and the color zones make it super easy to see if you’re in the sweet spot or need to adjust. I really like how precise the warmer is—those 1°F adjustments come in handy with different types of dough. The LED status light is helpful. Red means it’s warming, blue means it’s cooling. Simple and clear. The built-in timer is great if you’re doing an overnight ferment, you don’t have to babysit it or worry about overheating. And the memory function? Super helpful. I just plug it in, and it picks up where I left off.It fits my 32oz mason jar perfectly, and I think you could go up to 40oz without issues. It doesn’t take over my counter like some bread gadgets do. Totally worth the money having in the kitchen if you bake regularly.

This sourdough warmer has made a big difference in my baking routine. The functionality is spot on, and I love being able to control the temp to the exact degree. The build quality feels solid, and it’s easy to use right out of the box. Now that it’s cooler with the AC on, this helps my starter rise at the right pace again. The heat retention is great, and the ease of use with the timer and memory settings just makes everything smoother.

Anyone that works with sourdough knows that when it’s cold, it can take quite awhile for starter to bubble and dough to rise. This heater makes the process of getting your starter perfect for making yummy treats. It is easy to use! You can set the temperature and then set a timer for it. The light is red until it reaches temperature and then turns blue. This makes the process so much quicker! You can also use it with dough to help in the rising. Good quality and comes with easy to understand instructions.

I tried starting a sourdough starter several times over the last year and every single one of them failed! Now I can finally reach and maintain the perfect temperature for a sustainable sourdough starter. I love how much control I have with this warmer! It is sturdy and retains heat perfectly!

I am fairly new to the sourdough family, and I came across this gadget that I saw people saying was a must-have. I will save I am very impressed because I feel like it has helped me to control my sourdough starter. Before I would struggle with my starters not rising due to not being able to maintain the appropriate temp needed to keep it going. This was a huge help and I am so happy I purchased it! I will definitely be getting a few more!

This is a handy little warmer. It works OK for sourdough. I generally use mason jars to keep and grow my starter and I was concerned that it would 'bake' the starter when I was using it. This didn't happen. I set the temp at 75 deg for a pint jar and 85 degrees for a quart jar. In both cases there was a very thin film of starter stuck to the bottom of the jar that was difficult to clean, but the rest of the starter was fine. I estimate that it was less than a gram stuck to the bottom. I also used it to do the initial proofing of my bread dough in a large glass mixing bowl. Th thicker bottom of the bowl, meant none of the dough got stuck to the bottom. I set it at 88 degrees and it never got really warm, but it did the trick. Overall, I prefer a chamber proofer/warmer but this works better than expected and is much smaller to store. An additional handy feature is the shut-off timer, great for overnight use.

This review is for Sourdough Starter Warmer 70-100°F Precision Control (±1°F), Waterproof Temp Strip, 12H Timer & Auto Shutoff, Fits 40oz Jars (Jar Not Include) US Plug, BPA-Free.PRO(S):- My starter is definitely doing better (healthier, stronger, more consistent) than it was doing just sitting out on my counter.- The timer function is handy.- It can operate always-on without the timer. This is how I'm using it, and I've been doing it this way for a couple of weeks now. As I said, my starter is healthy and consistent.- It's user-friendly and intuitive.- Its small footprint means it doesn't take up much space on the counter.- It's compatible with a variety of dome covers.CON(S)- This is a pretty big one and the reason for the three stars. The minimum temperature - 70 degrees - is not the actual temperature. When the temperature is set at 70 degrees, according to the manual, the actual temperature of the plate is around 85 degrees. The manual explains that if the plate temperature is 85 degrees, the temperature of the starter throughout would be approximately 76 degrees, since the sides and top, not being heated, are exposed to the cooler room temperatures. I can understand and appreciate that. However, I have three problems with it. 1) It fails to take into account the dome covers that trap heat, 2) the setting is arbitrary, since it doesn't correlate to anything in reality - neither the temp of the plate nor the temp of the starter, and 3) The 85-degree actual temperature either bakes or dries out the starter on the bottom. I'm not sure which it's doing, but the inside bottom of my starter jar looks and feels like dried-out starter or slightly baked dough. It doesn't come off with a rubber spatula but requires a wooden or metal spoon to scrape and comes off in solid pieces. Thus, and here's the reason for the three stars, I wish it had temperatures lower than the lowest 70/85 degrees.Thicker, mason jars might behave differently, and I must acknowledge that the manual says leaving it on all the time is not recommended. My Brod & Taylor starter jar is pretty thin (compared to mason jars) glass, and the bottom is not concave like mason jars but perfectly flat. I feed my starter a variety of flours every 12 hours, 1:5:5.Overall, the product does help maintain a healthy starter with a consistent rise, but a couple of adjustments regarding the temperature would make it even better.

I just learned how to make sourdough bread. I had a problem before I purchased the warmer with maintaining temperature. Now with this warmer I am able to maintain a consistent temp. Comes with a guide with different temp settings. Its veryeasy and simple to setup. I would not leave unattended, as it does get hot. Excellent I love it.
