I recently swapped all of the lights in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 to LED, which caused hyper flash. That led me to this product which had good reviews. The install was super simple, just plug and play, and it fixed the issue. The signals are a bit faster than what would be "stock" with the Silverado, but that isn't something that bothers me whatsoever. Definitely recommend.

Plug n play. The hardest part of installation is accessing its location behind the knee bolster, above the parking brake pedal, basically on the inner side of the electrical block that is the fuse panel on the far left side of the dash. The OEM flasher has a retaining lug that engages a tab on the block that you will need to pry sideways to release, then pull and wiggle. It will resist if it has been there a long time and will need a lot of pull and wiggle for it to come out. The new unit did not have the retaining tab lug, so just pressed it in and it stays, the retaining tab is overkill. It is not going to wiggle loose on its own.All my directional, hazard flasher, and running lights are now led and they flash at the normal rate. No resistors needed for those functions with this flasher. But this won't help you with the brake lights. The 2 upper bulbs in the tail lights that function as the brake lights needed resistors in the harness, otherwise the cruise control won't work with leds because it needs to see current draw from the brake light bulbs. So with this flasher I was able to convert everything to led with only one pair of resistors on the brake lights. Even the DRLs are led now, those have no function issue at all. I left the headlights and fog lights incandescent because I prefer them that way.

Bought this product to fix the hyper flashing when I upgraded to LED turn signals. Turns out this part does not even fit into my relay box on my K1500. Which is very disappointing when Amazon claims it does.

Did you recently upgrade your turn signal bulbs to LED and notice a fast flash every time you use your turn signal? This flasher relay will fix that issue.Don't waste with load resistors, these actually use more amperage and defeat the purpose of your low watt LEDs. Plus you won't have to cut into your factory wiring harness. This relay is plug and play.Warning: I'm not personally responsible for undesired results due to these instructions. Here's how I replaced my flasher relay on my 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. It will be similar if not the same on other years, makes, and models.Safety first: for your safety, it's a good idea to chock the tires and disconnect the negative battery terminal. The flasher relay is located on the just above the OBD2 plug and parking brake release lever behind the trim.Remove the trim above the steering column by VERY GENTLY prying all the way around the trim. I can't stress GENTLY enough, it's likely your trim will be about 20 years old and fragile. It is not necessary to remove the trim, just to loosen it enough to free it from the trim under the steering column. I went ahead and removed it completely.Next you need to remove the trim under the steering wheel. There are two screws holding it in at the very bottom, a 7mm socket removed them for me. After the screws are removed gently pry this trim piece out. You might feel it necessary to remove the fuse panel cover to the left of this trim. The flasher relay is located just above the OBD2 plug. There should be a clip on the rear face of the relay. GENTLY pry this clip out of the while rocking the relay up and down and away from the fuse block.I noticed the new flasher relay doesn't have a notch that retains it like the OEM flasher relay. As long as the new flasher relay fits snug in the socket this isn't a big concern.Install your new flasher relay. Reassembly is reverse of these instructions. It is VERY IMPORTANT to test your turn signals and hazard lights. Make sure they all work.I have included pictures as well, check them out.Hopefully this helps someone.

I hardly ever write reviews but this saved me alot of headache. I installed LED lights in my 2001 tahoe and had hyperflash. Most the forums online were saying to by the inline resistor kit which you have to cut to your wiring and splice in the resistors and that was just something I didn't want to do. I found this for under $15 and it worked exactly as described. So if you have a late 90s early 2000s Chevy or GMC and are trying to solve your hyper Flash this product works perfect.

Replaced in my 2001 Silverado 1500 to stop hyper flashing after I installed LED bulbs. I was worried this was not the correct relay but it is for this model and works great. I took some pictures of this product the Flasher module I took out and the location of where it is. You will have to remove the upper bezel then unscrew and pop out the lower bezel under the steering wheel. I needed a small flat head screwdriver to pry up a locking tab to remove the original relay. The new one does not lock in the same but the pins fit tight so I do not foresee it falling out. Very happy that this was the correct relay, it took about 20 minutes to swap out.

Used instead of messing with in line restrictors on my old Silverado when I replaced turn signals with led switchback bulbs. Works great with no hyper flashing.
