This review is for the large version.Solid metal. Allows for lag bolts or screws in addition to adhesive backing. Comes with a security plate to cover the fasteners.Notes:- If you want to use custom lag bolts, the best size is M5. There is a limited amount of bolthead room, I would recommend using a pan, truss, or round headed fastener. There's between 2.5-3 mm of room for the bolthead. Otherwise you will have to forego using the security plate and leave the fasteners exposed. Perhaps with some strong threadlocker it wouldn't be a problem.- If the product ships with the security plate already installed, it slides and pops off. It may need to be pushed with a screwdriver from the back but shouldn't need excessive force. It will slide about 1/16" (~1.5mm) towards the longer edges. If one side doesn't work, try sliding to the other side.

This product can secure a small portable lockbox or safe to the wall via a separate security cable. However, the provided screws were not long enough to secure through a stud, so keep that in mind.

Adhesion isn't a factor because the base has holes you can mount screws through, or buy VHB tape. My need was to use this to secure items using the Kensington-style cable locks, which works because the loop DOES go through, to then loop the open end of the cable through and capture the cable to secure whatever you use the Kensington-tab end with.

This anchor is made of good quality but will not work on the Kensington K68008WW cable. The cable will not pass through the anchor's opening unless you force it through, with a great deal of force. If you ever have to take the cable out, you will need a good pair of pliers. I had to order the larger anchor offered by StarTech.
