On my push-to-start 2009 RAV4 Limited V6, the only thing I needed to do was splice the ignition wire from the fuse box. Space is very limited but doable. The rest is programming the black box and wire management. Doesn’t require you to pull out any panels like other cars. Press lock button on the fob 3 consecutive times to start and again press 3 times to stop the engine. I used the red colour T-Tab terminal for ignition wire. Recommend.

I installed this unit on my 2011 RAV4. The first step was by far the most difficult: tapping the car ignition wire with the purple wire from the kit. Space and vision is horribly limited, you can fit only one hand in the fuse box area. I could not remove the car ignition wire bundle connector from the fuse box. It just wouldn't budge. It would have made the splicing a whole lot easier if I could have removed it. I ended up tapping it in place using a [[ASIN:B0B3815XSG] Posi-Tap 20-22 ga. connector] Once the ignition wire was tapped the rest took no more than 10 minutes. The product works perfectly and the big bonus is you use your car's existing FOB. The first picture is finished installation. 2nd pic is the Ignition wire with the Posi-Tap preinstalled.

Good product, and good service. But the video are too short . It takes a little time to understand it .

This is a great product. Installed it in a 2011 Rav4 and it works great. It's as close to plug-and-play as it can get... the only thing you have to do is splice in a single wire. That wire was pretty difficult to access on my Toyota, but that's no fault of the product. Still, I had the whole thing finished in an hour. Other products like Compustart are super generic (not vehicle specific); you have to do a ton of wiring, studying schematics, and then you also have to carry another fob to use it. This one is great because it's triggered by your OEM fob.

Start-x worked very good ,but inside house couldn't see how it started because no parking light on therefore very difficult to recognize condition.

This unit works great. My only real complaint is the installation is a bit trickier than you're led to believe due to needing to tap in to the ignition wire. Otherwise works great!

It was a pain to install the single purple line due to the limited space in the vehicle. Used the brake pedal as cushion and had to angle my body. Definitely need some light and a helping hand lol! other than that, it was easy after tapping the purple line to the ignition line (red line for me on my vehicle). Wish vehicle didn’t die when door props open, but that’s manageable. Definitely cheaper than going to CarToys lol! Also, customer service was prompt to answer questions via email! Thank you!

The bad news is that the instructions are not very helpful in one of the steps. The good news is that email support is excellent and very responsive. If you run into the same issue as I did...When it comes to connecting the purple wire into the back of the fuse box, you need to contort yourself such that you are using the brake pedal as a pillow. Once in position, you'll need to remove the connector on the top right of the back of the fuse box. In my case, the 4th wire is red but it could be white or black according to support. You'll need to strip that wire a bit in the middle to connect it to the provided purple wire (also needs to be stripped at the end). Besides for that step, the rest of the instructions are pretty straightforward and easy to follow.

I just finished installing it on my rav4 2009 diesel 2.2 and it worked perfectly and easy to install. Mine requires to connect to ignition cable and obd2 and program that it. Hardest part is doing it in a small space. Other than that I would recommend to anyone.
