This is a quality piece of cookware. It performs beautifully. Like all cast iron cookware, it takes time to thoroughly heat, but once it does, it's good to go. You do have to be careful when cleaning it. The green scotchguard scrubbers will scratch it. I've found baking soda to work well for stains on the outside. I recently purchased the coconut coir Scrub Daddy and it works really well without scratching. It is also beautiful to look at. I display it in my kitchen for just that reason. It arrived in perfect condition, well packaged. There was even a little informational booklet included that tells about how they're made. The most cherished item in my kitchen. Well worth the money, in my opinion.

It's hard to go wrong with Staub cookware and this piece is no exception! Comparing this to a cheap knockoff, there is no comparison -- the quality and attention to detail really stands out. This dutch oven is a great size for my needs and the glass lid is great for viewing without needing to remove the lid. I have also baked in it a few times with great success. I slightly prefer the Staub internal coating versus Le Creuset as it seems to clean up a little more easily, but I will say the black internal surface can make it challenging to see down into the pan while cooking and during cleanup afterwards.

Bought this when the price was less than $100 as a gift for my daughter. I own a larger Staub cocotte/Dutch oven that I love. My daughter wanted an enameled cast iron Dutch oven that wouldn't take up too much room in her apartment kitchen that she could use to make meals for 1-2 people. Couldn't believe my luck when this went on sale b/c it's exactly what she wanted. She's very pleased and happy with her very own Staub cocotte

Beautiful pot. Unfortunately, there is a chip on the handle as shown in the photo. I am disappointed and will be returning the product. It's such a waste of time having to deal with returning products that sellers are obviously aware of. So unacceptable!

Great value as I purchased this lovely pot on discount. The glass lid is definitely a heavy one, but seals tightly and provide a window to observe the doneness. The pot is a lovely addition to my kitchen collection and works great for braising, deep frying, roasting and baking. Absolutely love it!

In the world of enamel coated cast iron, Staub is my favorite. There are a few other competitors out there, including the original Le Creuset -- but I found that the manufacturing of most other brands is going downhill. Staub continues to maintain a relatively good cast and a beautiful exterior glaze, which is not the case with the other brands that have turned to cheaper glazes that stain and are not shiny.Another nice feature is the metal knob is standard. These have to be purchased aftermarket with other brands. We are not likely to exploit the dished lid, but the shape is actually traditional and used for condensing liquids. If you want to make rosewater, for example, you might actually use this feature and put ice in the lid to make a distillation dutch oven. You can, in principle, also put hot coals there, but I wouldn't.My one sort of niggle about these pots is the interior finish. Staub uses a rough, black enamel. As a matter of practice I have had no problems with it, but it does seem mildly absorbing (or adsorbing) somehow. It does get clean, but it also gets very minor mineral buildup. Staub recommends coating them with a thin layer of oil, which if you do that and bake empty in a 475F oven for about an hour will give you a polymerized interior coating rather like a seasoned cast-iron skillet. I, however, prefer to keep my clean.
