These work fine. The only reason I rated 4 stars is that honestly the adhesion doesn't really make them more effective due to the faceplate compressing the unadhered gaskets anyway, and there are better options for the money that provide a lot more gaskets for a comparable price instead of having the adhesive layer. Still, you won't go wrong with these. I just did not find the adhesive feature useful. They also do not have a lot of options for how to punch them out - they're designed for one specific kind of fixture, which again lowers their value compared to some of the more plentiful and universal ones.

1st floor apt smokes skunk weed at least 3 times a week directly below my bedroom on 2nd floor. Could smell the nasty weed coming through electric outlets. Put these on with the adhesive attached to the drywall, and they cut out the smell. I’m assuming that they would work great to keep out cold air too

I could put my hand over the outlet and switch covers on the exterior walls and feel the cold. With these self-sticking foam inserts, all the outlet/switch plates feel room temperature. It took just a few minutes and a flathead screwdriver to fix them. Dead simple. Why don't outlet covers come with these? They should.

Easy install with great results to keep cold air from inside walls seeping into your heated home in winter. Particularly noticeable in windy, cold climates on north-facing walls. Takes just a minute or two with a screwdriver to remove the faceplate and attach the sticky insulation. The insulation is a bit thick for my faceplates, so the faceplate may not be completely flush with the wall in places. This is not a significant problem unless you are obsessive. The less than perfect fit is not necessarily the fault of the insulation since your electrical outlets may be slightly angled. I don't think this will affect the seal -- it only affects it cosmetically. After the insulation compresses in a few weeks, I should be able to tighten the faceplate screw to make any misaligned faceplates flush with the wall.UPDATE: High winds may cause minor leakage through the plug openings which isn't the fault of this product, Child safety plugs that can cover these holes will solve this minor problem for unused outlets.Over time the insulation did compress and seal the faceplates. There is no leakage around the faceplate itself.

I have purchased a similar item in the past, which were sub-optimal due to their thinness and propensity for tearing. These are thicker, do not tear, and provide a very good seal. I did not use the adhesive side, but left the backing on. I put the adhesive with backing side towards the outlet to add more insulating value. These covers fit snuggly around the individual sockets and don't need the adhesive. Although thicker, I didn't have any problem getting the wall plate back on.

This item works great! Stops drafts very well but plan on installing them correctly the first time. Attempts to remove them usually ended with the sealers becoming torn and unusable.

these were slightly small to completely cover the wall opening. This may just be a problem with my wall, not the product. One problem I did have is the thickness of the seal causes the face plate to not fit flush on the wall, and if you tighten the screws too much, you will crack the face plate.
