I have been using this strapping cutter for a while now, and I must say, it's exceeded my expectations in multiple ways. The cutting performance is impressive—it easily slices through steel, iron, PET, and PP banding, even up to 1-1/4" in width and 0.044" thickness without any struggle. The high-hard steel wide blade is a game-changer; it’s super sturdy, allowing me to tackle tough materials with minimal effort. The design of the tool is solid, and it feels very comfortable to hold, even after extended use, which is crucial when you're dealing with multiple banding jobs in a day. I was a bit concerned about the strength of the blade, but it’s held up remarkably well over time. It doesn't show any signs of dulling after repeated use, which is a relief because that’s a major factor when investing in a tool like this. The grip is comfortable, and the length of the handle makes it easy to get enough leverage to cut through thicker materials, saving me time and energy. I also really like the precision I get with it, as it cuts banding neatly without leaving rough edges or fraying, which is something I’ve struggled with in the past with other similar tools. It’s also worth mentioning that it doesn't feel cheap at all—there's a solid weight to it that reassures me it's built to last, and the materials used in construction feel high-quality. It doesn't rust easily either, which has been a big plus when working in environments where moisture is a factor. I also appreciate how easy it is to maintain; the tool requires very little upkeep, which is a bonus for someone who needs a dependable tool but doesn't want to spend a lot of time cleaning or repairing it. It’s been a reliable addition to my toolbox and has certainly made my work more efficient. However, I will say that, while it does handle most banding materials quite easily, it’s essential to be mindful of how much pressure you apply when cutting thicker materials. If you try to force it too much, there could be a risk of the tool slipping or causing inaccurate cuts, so a steady, consistent hand is necessary. Another thing to consider is the size of the cutter. While it's the perfect size for most standard tasks, if you need something more compact or specifically designed for tighter spaces, this one might not be the best option. That being said, if you're looking for a reliable, heavy-duty cutter that can handle a variety of banding materials, this one definitely fits the bill. It’s a tool that offers excellent value for the price, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who regularly works with banding

This is a specialty tool that I wish I had gotten sooner. I've been using all sorts of different tools to deal with banding and having specific cutters make a huge difference. These feel nice in the hand and seem very well made.

These are hefty and heavy duty. They cut well. It's not something you need that often, but when you do, there really isn't a substitute for something like this. Great to keep in the toolkit.

I bought this pair of scissors mainly for odd-and-end-of-life projects around my house, such as wire, barbed wire, aluminum sheets, etc. It's small, but feels heavy in my hand. I think that's the most impressive thing about it. The red rubber handle is comfortable to use. Overall, it looks well-made, durable, and looks like it will last a long time. I hope it lasts a long time. I'm very happy with the product.

The RupXinSplend 12" Strapping Cutter Band Tool is a great quality sharp cutting tool. Mine came with something smeared on the handle and the tool. Though, for me that is not a problem. Tools get dirty the first day I use them.I tested the cutter on sheet metal roofing material that is scrap metal left at the back of my property by the former owner. The RupXinSplend Cutter cut though the metal with no effort at all. I am an older female, so I personally love how handy and versatile this tool is. I often get sidelined with projects around the house because I am a bit intimidated with using a power saw to cut metal. For small jobs to cut metal, this tool will get a lot of uses. The 12-inch size is perfect for me to manage. So, any task I do won't become a more difficult task due to the size and weight of the tool.In sum, I love this 12" RupXinSplend Strapping Cutter Banding tool. I highly recommend it as a tool that can be used for so many needs to cut metal. For me it is much more practical for smaller jobs of cutting metal than taking out a power tool. It has now become an essential tool for me to have to get jobs done around the house that require cutting metal.

This set of cutters is actually kind of tough to manipulate and use. I feel like they are hard to open and use. If they are tough to open, straight out of the box, I'm wondering if they will get harder and harder each time? Once I got them open and placed on a piece of (PET) banding for a test cut, of course they cut easily but you have to make sure you get the band all the way back into the pliers or it'll slip out. Maybe it's just me but I don't think it should be this difficult? I feel like if the handles were more contoured, or angled, it could have given you more cutting power and make them easier to manipulate and utilize. Maybe also add a spring in the connection point so they will automatically want to spring back to the open position for and be ready for the next cut? Having to pause, use 2 hands to open them each time, and then make your cut takes extra time and we all know, time is money!
