The installation went very well but one of the check valves was stuck and following the installation some times it remains closed and also is leaking. I would give a 5 star rating but because of the problem I encounter I only gave 4. Please let me know what should I do with it because I believe for the price I should have something functional is it is intended to be. Thanking you in advance. Regards,Alexandre

Considering most all check valves are made of durable colored plastic, it only makes sense to use clear plastic instead. My application is for a horizontal mounting and my previous check valve after many years of use had the flapper detach from the inside which was not detectable until real problems occurred. The flapper somehow got caught in the large discharge pipe at the elbow and started grabbing paper until a full expensive clog to fix developed. If I was able to just at a glance see inside the old check valve it could have saved me a lot of wasted time and money. As to the quality of the check valve itself, they pretty much all look the same by look and feel, with only real way to verify is over a long time period which is beyond the scope of this review. But for the common sense idea of using a clear plastic housing I would have to give it 5 stars on that alone.

Neat idea to be able to see what’s going on, however what is going on is a steady drip, drip, drip around the seal until all the water on the other side has returned to the sump. So, it’s basically useless because a check valve’s purpose is to stop backflow and this does not do that.It was very easy to install. The clamps are cheap feeling and too big so I had to tighten them a lot. Also the connecting tubes are about as cheap as they could be made, though they do the job.

The flap does not seal. Water slowly leaks though.
