We need shade outside of our patio door, and bought a rectangular umbrellas with this base that allowed the base to be closer to the house.

This is not as stable as I had hoped, it rocks a bit. wobbles. Looks fine. Having 2 screws at in the base helps. The round plate at the bottom only attaches to the pole so it is difficult to slide on uneven surfaces.

I bought one three years ago for my half-umbrella on my small balcony. I filled it with water, and it has always held up well. I never changed or drained the water. I bring it indoors for the winter.It’s very stable for what I need from it. The winds here are crazy at times, but I’m not sitting outside when that happens anyway. And during typical times, I don’t notice it, which is all I can ask of it.My balcony faces west, and the hot Colorado sun bakes the balcony in the afternoons.This spring, when I brought it out, the cap for the container broke loose. It still works fine, but a little water leaks out when I set it up. It’s not a problem yet, but I’ll probably replace it at the end of the season.I’ll likely buy another one of these. The price is right for me.

The only thing that I don't like is that the screws to tighten the base to the umbrella base aren't quite long enough for my umbrella. THis means that the base isn't 100%secure.

Works pretty good considering it is half the size. Not very tight where the post goes into the base so I put a piece of wood in there to keep it from moving around. Expensive for the quality.

Although this product was very easy to assemble, taking only a minute or two, it just does not do what it is supposed to do. With only a slight breeze our umbrella kept tipping over on our deck. We are very unhappy with this purchase and I do not recommend anyone buy this umbrella stand. Only giving the one star because of the ease of assembly.

Unsteady, needs to be tied down with wire/nails on whatever umbrella you use. Otherwise stays put with the extra help. (Note: we tried putting play stand in the base but that was no fun and did nothing...).

Seems to work good for my half umbrella. Will be better if I fasten it to the house, not real sturdy. Need to see how it will do with a little wind.

I needed an umbrella base that allows it to be placed close to a wall because it is straight on one side. The base is constructed so that the umbrella pole can be secured into the base and the umbrella can be rotated without having to loosen the umbrella pole. The base is plastic and water filled to increase the base weight. It is good looking and I highly recommend it,
