Bought this when my 4 year old Home Depot special took a dive and flooded my basement. Figured spend a little more and get a back up.4 stars because you need to assemble part of it. The hoses come lose easily and I had to use pvc adhesive to make sure it wouldn’t fail or spray water all over the place.

Came with broken float switch. Called company on a weekend and they sent a replacement at their expense the next week. Install was straight forward and there is a video online showing each step for this pump. Been several weeks and it is running great and is super quiet.

This pump works well, the issue I have with it, is that when the power comes back on, it keeps running off the battery, until you manually reset it. The backup pump is smaller, and doesn’t pump as hard, so I do still get some moisture in the basement, if I am sleeping, or away, when the power goes out, since it does not automatically switch back to the Main pump. Better than not having a battery back up, as I live in a very wet area, with frequent power outages.

Amazing product for piece of mind. This is in my crawlspace and I can hear the sound of a power outage in my bedroom. Very loud. Also, pump is very powerful and as long as you buy a good deep cycle battery you have an amazing safety backup for your sump pump. Make sure you put check valves on both your main pump and this backup so you do not have back feeding water. I do not trust the check valve it comes with as I have had issues with these getting airlocked in the past, so I removed the inner rubber flap to use that piece as a simple connector and installed a different check valve slightly up the tube. You also need to drill a "weep hole" between the check valve and the pump to avoid air lock. This last part is VERY IMPORTANT to prevent airlock. If this review helped you, please mark it as helpful, thank you.

Very long to receive but during Covid so understandable. We did not clearly understand during purchase that for 400$, we still needed to go buy a battery. We had to spend another 200$ for a battery. Instructions are terrible. The letters pointing to the different items included in the package are wrong. However we knew what we were doing so we still had no problem installing. Not knowing what you are doing, I am not sure anyone could use the instructions provided. All this being said, it works like a charm. We actually had a storm where it needed to be used and it worked exactly as it should and alarm sounded.

Powerful pump rapidly clears sump.Installation instructions could be more extensive. It describes as recommended installation, but then simply says "other installationss are possible". If you do not have a configuration that matches the description (a fairly deep well with a quite long vertical section of PVC rising from the main pump) then you will need to change the install. They do say they have a help line for this which I have not tried. My only real gripe is that the plug of thecharger cable to the battery box fits very loosely, instead of plugging in firmly - easy to dislodge. The description makes it clear that the you need to provide your own battery (my fault if I did not read it) be prepared to spend about another $175 for one that meets specifications.

So I purchased this pump setup for the low price of $170 which isn't bad considering the competition. I got the tethered float since it was much cheaper. The standing float brought the kit price up to $230! What?? So The tether float works just fine, it also gives you a little extra space to work with in the pit. My crock isn't very large so this actually ended up helping me out.The battery case is plastic with the controls built into it. The pump is a sturdy thermoplatic that really does feel quite durable. The kit comes with battery standoffs as well as a plastic check valve built to screw on to the pump. Both nice additions I wasn't originally aware of. Everything seemed to go fairly well and the pump was installed in the bottom of my crock same as my AC pump. I do this because the check valve within the crock made it so I could not mount the pump to the discharge line as the directions state. The pump still operates fine in this way. It does sit pretty flush to the ground though and is bottom draw so I made a little platform for it to sit on so it doesn't pick up all the garbage on the bottom of the crock. My only real gripe with this kit is that the check valve is pretty weak and cracked on me when installing. I was unaware it even came with it so I won't dock a star for this as maybe I had tightened it too much. I ended up using a normal 1-1/2" Zoeller valve for this pump and a quiet spring loaded valve on my AC pump.Overall this is a good setup that seems like it will continue to work and give me peace of mind that I won't flood my basement. I used the MightyMax 75Ah battery on Amazon for this setup. It fits perfect in the battery case and also was a good price at $140 at the time of this review. This is a good setup if you already have an AC pump and don't want to replace it like me.
