I really like this survival bracelet. The compass is definitely larger than most, and it actually works better than most of the other ones I bought on other survival bracelets . The whistle is great and very loud, definitely could help in a bad situation. The fire starter rod and striker aren’t too small, considering the size of the bracelet. They’re tucked into the bracelet and snug so they won’t get lost easily. The flashlight has 2 batteries that can be replaced. It’s a little tough to get the back cover open but if you carefully pry near where the O in the SOS is, they can be popped open and then there’s the two batteries underneath that can be changed out if needed. So in some ways, this is better because you can acquire batteries and keep the light working even after the batteries go bad.All in All… this is a nice bracelet for the money. I wouldn’t use this as my main means of survival if I was camping, but it makes a great back up if you were in a situation where you lost your striker and you had to get a fire going or you wandered from your group and didn’t know which way… north south east and west were. This would give you a relative position. The whistle could be used to alert others where you’re at as well. All of the items on the bracelet are practical and could be used in an emergency situation that could possibly save your life. Lastly don’t forget about the rope. The para cord could be used to attach and tie things for all types of situations where you would normally not have any rope at all.

I build car bug out bags for family members, and I try to build them with redundancies. I like little gadgets like this, because it allows me to double up on things that I already have in the kits. For instance, I put small flashlights in my kits, but this bracelet comes with a light. If the flashlight fails, I have a backup. You get the picture. So this bracelet isn't professional grade on any level, but it is lightweight and will get the job done. If you need to know the general direction you are headed in, the compass does that. If your matches fail or your fire steel fails, you can make sparks with this. If you need a bit of Paracord, this will do. 4 stars for versatility alone, even if the quality is not quite 5 stars.
