Susan Bates Crochet hooks are inline hooks, and there is a huge number of fans of this brand of crochet hooks. However, I had previously not been impressed by some hooks from this brand. This set, however, changed my mind. The ergonomic rubberized handles on these hooks, provide comfort. The length of these hooks is also really great because I prefer longer hooks.The Clover soft touch hooks, even though they are wonderful hooks, are too short for me and my large hands. I have been using Clover amour hooks because they have the right length and ergonomics and glide like butter through yarn. Even though this set is a lot cheaper. I was surprised to find that they are very smooth and easy to work with and do not split yarn. This set contains the most commonly used sizes. I tried a couple of the sizes and they were comfortable in my hand and moved easily through rough yarn. This is a nice alternative to my Clover Amour hooks at a much lower price and I like that the length is longer than the Amour hooks. I think this is a great set specially for travel because these are very reasonably priced and it would not hurt if I lost a hook. If I compare them with Furls crochet hooks, one hook from that brand is more expensive than this entire set. For the quality given the reasonable price, I recommend this set.

The Susan Bates Soft Ergonomic Crochet Hooks is a good set. This is the 5-pk set and the sizes are G (4mm), H (5mm), I (5.5mm), J (6mm), and K (6.5mm). Each hook has a different color and is made of lightweight aluminum. The grips are fine and comfortable to hold. My daughter is just getting into crocheting and I thought this would be a good set of hooks for her to start with. The quality is good and the price was fair. No complaints. 5/5 stars.

I feel like crocheters pick a favorite hook style. Some prefer these Susan Bates more sharp angle, others prefer the more rounded tips of other brands. I am a Susan Bates girl, I have always loved this brand of books. I have a similar ergonomic hook I purchased individually many years ago that is not only still in perfect condition after heavy use but also remains my favorite. This set is a great distribution of sizes for your most common crochet needs imo. Perfect for beginners and experts alike.

These are pretty nice hooks, I am normally a huge fan of Clover Soft Touch hooks for amigurumi use and I use a set of Clover Amour for larger, less fiddly projects such a blankets and clothing items. I have tried pretty much every brand of crochet hook over the years and I have never been much of a Susan Bates fan at all. The regular aluminum hooks are somehow just not comfortable for me, not ergonomically suited and somehow too long for me to comfortably and effortlessly use in comparison to my Clovers. So I was sort of dubious of these guys, being that they appear to be the normal aluminum Susan Bates hooks but with little rubber handles. Surprisingly these fix a lot of the previous issues I had with this brand, the rubber handles somehow add enough comfort and weight balance to these to make them more useable for me.Crochet hooks are SUPER subjective, no one has the same taste and what works for me may not work for you. That being said, these are well designed and well made and may be perfect for your use. I still prefer shorter, flatter handled hooks personally, but these are excellent and they work really well. No complaints at all. And they are certainly a lot less pricy than my preferred set. I do really like that they are all color coded by size as well.On an slightly different note, this sales page indicates that this is one set of crochet hooks between sizes 4.0 and 6.5mm. For some reason, I received exactly 3 boxes of 5 hooks each, all identical sizes. It appears to be a mistake in shipping and not intentional, however.

I was excited to receive this crochet set until I realized they are very poor quality. Every single crochet hook has chips, and dings. Anyone that crochets knows that chips, dings and dents get caught on the yarn making crocheting more difficult, slows you down and makes things frustrating and annoying.I would not recommend this set to anyone, even beginners.

I am just starting out with crocheting so I am no expert, but I can say that I like these much better than the rather thin metal hook I was given. I am older and I found that crocheting hurts my fingers but these work better and cause me less pain. Unlike the plain aluminum hooks these have a padded/cushioned area that makes the handle part thicker and much easier to hold. I like how they feel in my hand. This is a nice set that seems well designed.

These hooks feel nice in my hands (not arthritic yet, but having a good grip is nice) and I can share with my mother-in-law who lives with us--she does have arthritis. The grip is soft enough to add some comfort when using but not so squishy that it's hard to move the hook to where I need it. These are a winner!
