There are some cute patterns in the book, but I was sad to find that all of the capes (which I bought the book for) had no or limited sizing options. The majority are "one size" on a medium model, and if there are sizes, it's only S, M, L. Not even an XL to be had.

exactement ce que j'attendais avec des explications claires que je ne me lasse pas de réaliser depuis l'achat du livre

Finding a book in which one wants to knit every pattern is impossible; but finding one which includes this many patterns I plan to knit is a treat! My knitting friends have already been asking where I found that pattern. What fun!

I love this knitting book. I am a mediocre knitter, but too young at heart to do standard designs. This book inspired me and I have done 3 designs already in the book with my eye on three more. It is fun. It is easy. Now I need more drawer space for my scarves. The only negative is that the length of the needles is not clear, so you just have to guess.

Another reviewer mentioned there were corrections for the Bronte Fichu pattern but when I went to the sites mentioned in the review, you either had to login or I couldn't find the corrections page. The actual address for the pattern corrections is: jeanmoss.com/Sweet_Shawlettes_errata.htmlJust ordered the book and just wanted to post the webpage for others to use, so I am giving the book four stars for now.Update 2014: Have circled back to browse thru Sweet Shawlettes again and am once again impressed with the lovely, innovative designs. However, am I the only one that thinks a pattern based on a specific knit stitch--specifically Feather and Fan for the Arabesque Scarf--should include instructions for that stitch? I had to look it up on the Internet and found comments about Feather and Fan being confused with Old Shale. (See source below) One is an 18 stitch pattern, the other is a 12 stitch pattern. Personally, as a beginner/intermediate knitter who hasn't memorized the finer points of the hundreds of knit patterns available, I think F&F should have been described explicitly. If I could drop my four star vote to 2.5 I would. The scarf pattern is given 4 pages in the book-why not supply complete pattern instructions? To see difference between F&F and Old Shale see Northernlace.wordpress.com/2010/03/12/feather-and-fan-versus-old-shale/ post by Elizabeth Lovick who is in no way responsible for this review of Jean Moss' book. But I'm grateful for her helpful post.

I would recommend this book to experienced knitters. There are several lovely projects, mostly for the more accomplished. However, I found inspiration to make similar accessories following my own simplified version of their patterns and ideas. The instructions are fairly clear.

After finding the other half of my stash buried (by DH) years after we moved, I had more yarn than I knew what to do with, bundles of yarn that were too small to make a full sweater, yarns not suitable for charity knitting, and some fancy yarns that didn't go with anything - the usual destash problem. This book is full of smaller things that are perfect for using up the stash in a stylish way and making gifts. The patterns are young and fresh and look well planned so you end up with a polished looking garment. There are no awkward fastenings that don't quite work or bad yarn choices or the usual pattern that's so ugly you wonder how it got published as there usually are in collections. I would make up all of them, which is very unusual for me.

I had so many little page markers in this book, I finally just took them out. There are a plethora of patterns here that I will knit. This book is destined to become dog-eared in my collection. Great patterns, wonderful photos and excellent yarns.

I ordered this book because of the cover photo. I have seen other knitted designs by Jean Moss, and while a bit on the abstract, I like the verity. A lot of the designs are charts, so if you can't read charts, skip this book. But if that will not bother you and you want the book for ideas, this is a great book. My goal for buying a book is at least 3 designs I want to make. This book has 11, plus the ideas it gives me for others.
