Have used these on 1/2 dozen recoveries, including a Sysco delivery truck stuck on an icy driveway. Hardest hits were on a plow truck stuck in 3 ft of snow.Overall with 20-30 hits the soft shackles have been great and just are a little dirtier than when new.If you are not a pro or don't off-road very often buy this. A pro would have Yankum Rope equipment cause it matters.

I am looking to try a soft shackle as an alternative to a steel one for a large boat anchor snubber application. Time will tell how this compares to a $300 metal clasp that I use today. The product seems to be well made and as I have limited experience with this I need more time to validate how it works. However my fits observation is that the protective cover, while it should be a good idea, seems to make it more difficult slide the braid to tighten up the loop. It's still possible but seems more work that it should be. I'm ordering a design without the protection cover to see how it compares.

Great design works well, plenty strong. Only used it a few times so far, but I did pull a vehicle about 10 miles with many starts and stops, worked well.

Soft shackles are an excellent, lost cost, lighter weight alternative to steel bow shackles. Unless abrasion and/or sharp metal edges are present, these are actually superior to steel bow shackle. Quite a few manufacturers offer these, but those from QiQu appear to be the least expensive. Some vendors sell the same sized ones for SEVERAL TIMES the price. It's possible that for a given diameter that pricier ones are stronger. BUT #1) I've not found any failures so far. #2) If I was ever at the strength limit for a given diameter, I'd just select the next larger diameter, and it would STILL cost much less than the pricey ones.NOTE: For dynamic pulls (abruptly applying a lot of tension (rolling start), all of my use has been with a 'kinetic recovery rope' instead of a tow strap.

The first time I have used soft shackles and I was impressed with how well they worked. The small cord to release the loop after a load is great, I think a shackle without this feature would be hard to use. I pulled out a few heavy rigs with a kinetic rope and the shackles performed well.

I also purchased theQIQU Nylon Kinetic Recovery Rope-Heavy Duty Car Towing Rope with Soft Shackle for Off-Road Recovery 4x4 SUV Truck Jeep ATV/UTV (7/8 inch30 feet, Blue)which came with two soft shackles but I wanted extra because if one breaks it's nice to have backup. And they are much lighter than a metal shackle to boot!Used one to help pull a guy out of a ditch, he was driving a 90's era honda civic type car which probably is quite a bit under #3k in weight. Ran this through the tie down point and connected the quqi recovery rope to that and to my hitch shackle and pulled the guy out easily. Not much of a strain so not a real test though.

Wonderful quality, used it with a old tow rope. Better than metal shackle as it doesn’t posses any threat in cases of breakage and is light on the chassis’s hook with no compromise on the performance.
