Rivets on the handle were unevenly placed phillips head screws, not smooth as advertised. This is not as advertised.

This was a decent ax head but the handle was broken and they had screws for grips which I thought was a little trashy honestly.

Overall pretty nice and sturdy. However, instead of smooth studs on the grips like in the picture, mine has Philips head screws instead. It takes away from the medieval look(modern screws), and it doesn’t help they were put in kind of messy as well. However for the price, I’d say it’s still a good deal,

Ok, I was iffy about buying this with all of the bad reviews I read but figured I can always send it back, so I got one.I don't know why everyone seems to get bad ones, mine turned out to be quite nice no rust, mold, critters or anything else wrong with it. All the studs in the handle were shiny and tacked in a proper pattern like the photo, the axe head seems to be on strait (not sure how well secured yet) but I always re-inforce mine so as long as it is not a balsa wood handle it should be fine, I'm not planning to cut lumber with it once the blade is sharpened anyway. Oh yes the blade.. you will need to sharpen it yourself. That is the only small drawback with this item I can mention. Never a problem for me as I always upgrade many of my weapons to make them way better than they were when I got them. Badassified by re-design Igor style.Like I said If I am really disappointed I can always send it back...So can you.So roll those bones, ya might just get lucky!Reviewed byMichael James Fox (aka...Igor)Beavercreek, Ohio

For the cost you pay, THIS is an axe! In many ways, it is a finer than fine product piece that really makes you feel awesome holding it in your hands. Seriously, I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this but... I am MORE than satisfied with how everything turned out! Just be responsible with it is the "theme".There are several things you should know about this particular item. For one, as it is an axe, it has no sheath or wrapping for the blade. And the BLADE in question is super SHARP! Seriously, I mean, wow, it really was way sharper than I thought was needed to be a costume prop as well as a wall decor! It's too sharp on both sides; blade and spike. So, be VERY careful about this bad boy. Especially plan ahead if guests are coming over, be they best friends or little kids and so on. (Seriously, you might be better off locking this up so no one "plays" around with it. It's way too dangerous in the wrong - even if unintentional - hands. If you know metal works or such, blunting/grinding it is a good idea on both sides.)Apart for that warning, this item is great! It's well worth the price. I am super happy with it! Especially the studded bits as they haven't fallen out or anything. The handle is sturdy material too. I don't know why idiots get these things to hit things with but this isn't meant for that. No online ordered weapon is. It's a replica which belongs in a costume atmosphere or mounted on your wall as bad ass decoration in your gaming room! :D

I'm pretty happy with this. Sadly does not come sharpened, I was told it was battle ready but as it is dull it is definitely not. However with some time on a stone it could be, it's solid and feels good in the hands. A few minor flaws, tarnish and dents, but they won't affect the function. Studs are good, I was worried they would just be glued on but they're actually hammered into the handle. Came oiled, which shows that they didn't want the blade to rust, so I appreciate that. Nice for the price, would recommend.

Looks nice, but not exactly as shown. Studs are no more that tacks, not like the ones in the picture Also advertised as carbon steel, which is misleading as even stainless steel has some carbon in it. It is what it is and that is a wall hanger. Don't try and hit anything with it. Spike bent just trying it on soft wood. Am curious as to why they would ship it oiled if its stainless steel. Would like better clarification as to exactly what type of carbon steel it actually is. as well the axe head loosened at the first hit. The nut on top is merely for looks, it has no function as to securing the head to the handle. Left to assume the head is just pressed to the handle so be careful swinging the handle. As well the alignment of the head to the handle has space at the base of the axe head where it meets the handle.

For a Display quality item, it is very well constructed. Do beware of the spike on the backside though. That little devil is sharp enough to do battle with.

This item is great for Halloween, cosplay and middle earth battle reenactments. This item is safe with no sharp edges. This is not recommended for children. The blade is nicely polished and can keep its fine matte brushed look with a microfiber or dusting cloth. Keeping this in a safe dry place, would allow the studded wood handle which is an excellent weight and grade to last for years. I would recommend this product as a gift.

I was not expecting much when I paid less than $40 for a battle axe. Though, I wasn't disappointed. Upon close inspection, you can see how quickly they slap these things together. However, for an occasional costume piece, it's perfect. The broken and misshapen rivets in the handle (yes, there are a few) add character and make it seem a bit more authentic, but the visible glue on top is a bit irritating.Overall, I'm happy with it. You get what you pay for, but this really isn't a bad deal.
