Worked well until the red temperature needle colour faded. Then could not read the temperature. Lasted 6 months.

Installed using supplied sticky pads on passenger side rear view mirror of 2018 Honda Odyssey. Stayed on for a few weeks, but fell off while on vacation in warm humid Florida Gulf coast.Temp readings were very close to vehicle dash read out. Vehicle dash read out is in lower left corner and in small font, difficult for driver to read and impossible for passenger.

Update: I’m no longer certain about the calibration process of using ice water. Apparently ice water can be 32°c or below.I ended up using an infrared thermometer to calibrate all twenty-odd Taylor analog thermometers and they do all hold within a degree. Unfortunately I haven’t figured out how to calibrate or know the temperature is accurate without having a base.I’m writing this review in response to all the bad reviews. I bought this temp gauge mainly because one review here mentioned the calibration screw on the back so I calibrate myself if it wasn’t already. But it is calibrated. I put it in a glass of ice water and it registered 0°f/17.8°c (decimals are not included in the dial, but that’s what 0°f is and it reads 0°f) If you do the ice water test and it doesn’t read 0°f simply use one of those tiny flat head screwdrivers, or equally as good, use the tip of the nail cleaner that comes with your nail clippers to turn the calibration screw on the back of the device until it reads 0°f.I was unable to find anywhere here nor on the Taylor site where it states there’s a calibration screw on the back. It makes a huge difference and it should be included. It can be mounted in either direction, it comes with adhesive mounting stickers. Is bilateral the word I’m looking for? Maybe. Anyway, I will be using this temp gauge in a bearded dragon enclosure. I hope this review helps your decision.P.s. i don’t know how to rate how easy it is to read. It’s under 2” in diameter so it’s exactly what you’d expect for something that small. If you typically require reading glasses then you will most likely need them to read the dial.
