The 10mm Ethos delivers: 100° apparent field (50% larger in area than 82° Naglers), comfortable eye-relief, (accepts DIOPTRX eyesight astigmatism correctors), distortion correction, high contrast and on-axis sharpness for planetary viewing. It is the "do-it-all" eyepiece perfect for all scopes that can utilize this focal length. And, "filling the hole" between the 13mm and 8mm makes it the ideal centerpiece for a 17mm/10mm/6mm Ethos set. An important benefit of the combination of large apparent field of view and shorter focal length is that for a given field in the sky, higher magnification results in a darker sky background. Fainter stars become visible and more detail is seen on all deep sky objects. Ethos provides another big magnification/contrast jump, yielding dramatic views simply not previously possible in any telescope. With the smaller exit pupil, eyesight limitations are also reduced. In addition to matching all the key performance criteria of its 13mm sibling, its lighter weight and smaller diameter makes the 10mm more suitable for use with a binocular viewer.

This is my fourth Ethos eye piece and not one flaw on any of them on arrival. The eye relief is a little tricky but the payoff of a clear high contrast 100 degree view more than makes that worth while. Expensive ? Yes, but relative to the views worth it … you need to own a few of these !The anchor of my team is a Nagler 31, then the Ethos 21,17,10, and 6. My 14” Dobson has plenty of light and star guidance I’m still refining.

This 10 mm eyepiece is the pride and joy of my eyepieces for my 8 inch SCT telescope. Great quality, crisp views, the expense is definitely worth it. Good job Televue and Agena Astro!

I gave this eyepiece 3 stars. I REALLY REALLY wanted to be able to give it 5 stars and say that it was the best money I ever spent. But the truth is, I have mixed feelings about it.To start with the positives, this eyepiece lives up to the hype in the sense that it has a magnificent field of view. It is also extremely sharp from edge to edge. I am no pro when it comes to detecting flaws in an eyepiece, but to my eye, there are no flaws or aberrations anywhere in the field of view. Just crystal clear viewing... if you have perfect vision and can hold your head rock steady for extended periods in order to appreciate it, that is.And that is where my problem lies. I do not have perfect vision. This eyepiece has a short eye-relief, and is definitely not for people who MUST wear their glasses when viewing. I have astigmatism, but it's relatively mild. When I use any of my other eyepieces, I can take my glasses off and still see a great view from the lens. However... with the Ethos eyepiece, I am FORCED to take my glasses off (whether I want to or not), and I feel as though I have to get uncomfortably close to the lens in order to see the view. So close, in fact, that I quite often see a shadow/outline of my eyelashes brushing against the glass. Not only that, but (as another reviewer has said), I find it extremely difficult to maintain a steady view, and find that it can be a struggle to keep the "sweet spot" steady in my vision. Another problem that I have (which another reviewer has stated too), is that I seem to have to squint much harder to keep my other eye closed while scanning the expanded field of view, and it can become downright uncomfortable to view through this eyepiece for any length of time. I do NOT have this problem with any other eyepiece that I own, and I own 6 other eyepieces! For the record, I also own two of the "Delos" eyepieces from Tele Vue, and I absolutely love those! They are clearly designed for people who wear glasses, and I don't have any difficulty or discomfort when I use those, unlike the Ethos! I really wanted to be able to say that the Ethos was worth the (extremely) high premium that I paid for it, but the truth is... I can't. Don't get me wrong... there are no false claims in the marketing materials for this product. This eyepiece is clearly a top-of-the-line design, and the 100-degree FOV is spectacular... if you can manage to comfortably view for long enough to appreciate it. Unfortunately, I am not one of the lucky ones who can view comfortably with this eyepiece. For me, the bottom line is that this eyepiece is absolutely not worth the price that I paid. I paid half the price for the Delos eyepieces, and they are far and away more comfortable and easier to use than this "Cadillac" of eyepieces, in spite of their "paltry" 72-degree FOV. I even have some cheap eyepieces that were part of a kit, and they are far more comfortable and easy to use than the Ethos eyepiece... and they cost FAR less!I've spent a lot of time using and comparing my eyepieces before writing this review, because I hate when people review products the moment they open the package. Yes, this eyepiece has a lot to offer if you have no worries about money, and you have perfect vision. Perhaps it's worth twice (or more) the price of an "inferior" eyepiece if you're one of those people. But in my mind, there is nothing about the view through this eyepiece that justifies the extreme price, and the expanded field of view has not given me sufficient "thrills" to be able to say that it puts any other eyepiece to shame. The fact is... if I could do it all over, I'd take the money I spent on this eyepiece, and use it to buy 2 or 3 "inferior" eyepieces that have better eye relief, and then I'd have an even bigger collection of eyepieces to choose from.So... take my review for what it's worth. Agree or disagree... that's quite OK. But in my mind... the high price and difficulties that I experience when using the Ethos eyepiece make it an extreme disappointment!

WOW! it's true what they say, you get what you pay for. I decided I would splurge and get ONE nice eyepiece. Tele vue is amazing, it's like they put a little bit of magic in the eyepieces. I have some other mid to high end eyepieces but this one is my favorite by far. The clarity and the view is amazing. The one issue is the SIZE, this thing is huge... but it needs to be to fit all that magic dust inside =D If you have the money to spend you wont be disappointed, if like me you want to have one nice eyepiece (the Ethos line by Tele vue) is one awesome product. Happy stargazing.

I've used the 10mm Ethos in my 18" f4.5 reflector so two or so years now. Any amateur astronomer will tell you, Televue products are the best. I own several TV eyepieces and the 10mm Ethos spends the most time in my focuser. The 100 degree FOV provides extended views for non-tracking telescopes before a nudge adjustment of the telescope is necessary. Dark background, excellent contrast provides outstanding views of planets, globular clusters, nebulas, etc.
