To this day, I still haven’t been able to put this thing together. It’s not well made, and definitely not worth $40. The only thing it has going for it is that it’s extra long, which is why I bought it in the first place. But the setup is confusing, the instructions are terrible, and it felt like more trouble than it was worth. I’ve installed water filters under my sink and replaced light fixtures with no experience, and somehow this curtain rod defeated me. I ended up just tossing it because even selling it felt like too much effort. Maybe it’s user error, but if it is, that’s saying something.

The best feature of this extension rod is that it comes in an excessively long length that will extend to a maximum of 148 in, roughly 12 ft. Unlike other tension rods, this one is considerably more substantial for obvious reasons because the center with too much weight could sag. For this reason I could not give it five stars, as regardless of the strength of the material, the weight of draperies extending over that amount of space is going to cause the rod to sag in the middle on the upside it'll hold heavy drapery but I think that it really needs a center support bracket. Secondly, tension rods like you might use in a shower you have the ability to make a gross adjustment to fit it and then you can tighten it up for a final tight fit this rod lacks that ability and instead uses a series of holes with a push button set at approximately an inch and a quarter distance. These are very strong but finding that perfect spot is difficult and I ended up putting my rod under a little more stress than I would prefer. I don't want it to bend or bow and so far so good but I could not get that fine adjustment. It does have extender ends on it so if you need a little extra inch or you want a wide secure base on each end the end caps give you a few extra inches and provide a wide base. You have the option of just an end cap. The rod looks great and I was able to fill a very large window space that didn't have the option of using smaller curtain rods in between each of the windows. Just some design changes that I think would have made it the perfect rod.

Well, it definitely works. No question not hard to put together and the function is relatively simple. I only gave it a 4 star. Because the ends are so big and round that it sticks out of the wind window seal, I don't have a very deep window seal about 3 inches, and this sticks out from around it. The ends are very big. I guess to hold up a lot so it'll hold up a lot. You just knee deeper window seals or inside of the window needs to be at least 4 inches. Otherwise, the edge of it will probably stick out all close to 4 inches. Arguing that it works great, it's sturdy looks good. It doesn't bend at all. But like I said, it is a very big on the ends, and then to crank it down, you simply turn them and they honey, screw. Type it screws out and fits snug inside of the window or door or whatever

I just couldn't get it to stay up. Maybe useful for a light sheer curtain, but hanging heavy items on hangers is not this product's specialty. It's really long, and I love the color. It's sturdy without anything hanging on it. You can make it shorter if you would like. It has these really huge ends on it with lil suction like circles on each end. I'm not exactly sure what the intended funtion for those would be. In my opinion I don't believe they would look nice on a window with any type of curtains, but who knows. Maybe it's just not meant to be used for what I wanted it to. I don't believe I'd recommend.
