There's not enough knitting books about rugs out there! This one is great, with tons of patterns and discussion about the hows. I'm an experienced knitter but just getting into rugs. This book is a huge help.

There's a lot of cleverness between these covers. The instructions are good and the projects range from newbie (almost) to moderately advanced. Some of the finished rugs MAY loose their shape/not wear well due to the construction technique. Especially be wary of projects that require a backing. Getting those back to shape after a wash is going to be a challange. Rugs of that type are great for low-traffic areas, but stick to 'squared and spare" small mats for the back door mudroom. I have a 2' x 2' hemp/cotton thing that is on its 3rd year of hard use/weekly wash. A 6-module version of the front cover rug didn't fare so well and is now a dog coat.

Nice variety of rugs with clear explanation, good pictures. Extra tips, well laid out. Offers everything from simple to mosaic.I bought it simply for the spiral rug using an I-cord. Other ideas are interesting. Could adapt patterns to an afghan and some to a shawl.Would the price, especially if bought used.note: I got an used one and the quality was excellent.

This book has been out a while but is still very good. Lots of ideas and patterns and tips on different yarns and materials, using t-shirt strips to worsted to even smaller. Also good tips on caring for, washing, finishing and blocking. Very useful.

Can't say enough about how enjoyable this book is for me! I'm presently working on the rug on the cover (different color scheme, though), and it's going splendidly! I also have a handful of other rug ideas marked to work on in the near future. The instructions in this book are so USER FRIENDLY (really well written) and the photos are great quality and from useful angles. (Not all books are written with such good instructions and photos.) I am an experienced knitter, and I still prefer my books to be easy to understand.........this one is and would suit many knitters' skill levels.

I found this book to contain even more ideas/pattern and wonderful rugs than imaginable. The pure selection of rugs is impressive. Colorful rugs, cabled rugs, runners, circular ... you name it, and it is in the book.What I find wonderful is that the explanations are great, the patterns are easy to follow, and there is a load of information about rugs themselves. This book is great for knitters of all levels. You'll wonder how you ever lived without this book (gifts in a flash).
