Tool worked fine for three holes, fourth hole it caught a small rock and bent the shaft, wobbles uncontrollably now.

I like this auger, great size for gardening. Yes I could dig with my small shovel but is less effective, and takes longer when you have a number of small plants and bulbs you want to get in the ground. What's great about an auger bit is it pulls the dirt up, out, and away from the hole where with my small shovel, dirt keeps falling back in the hole and I end up scoping it out with my hand. This auger is so much faster. Quality made material, durable, no doubt would last a lifetime. You'll like how quick and easy it makes spring planting yo won't want to lend it out! Super fast shipping

This auger worked better than I expected. I used a regular 1/2-inch Dewalt electric drill with it. This drill was powerful enough to dig a hole the entire 32-inch depth in packed earth that did not contain any rocks. When I dug another hole, it hit a rock about a foot down and would not go any further. This is a light-duty auger that will not cut through or displace rocks. It just stops. However I expected this, especially since I'm using just a 1/2-inch hand drill. I would not attempt to use this with a cordless drill or with a 3/8-inch corded drill. I'd say 1/2-inch corded is the minimum, unless you have soft dirt and don't plan to drill deep. This auger bit is strong enough to drill into most earth that is free of rocks, limited mostly by the power of your drill rather than by the strength of this bit. It drills quickly into the ground and self-feeds. Be careful you don't burn out your drill, because this will put a lot of strain on any normal hand drill. I doubt a normal drill can handle an entire day of drill holes with this without burning out. The bigger and more powerful the drill, the better. It's drills only 3-1/2-inch holes, but I was able to fit a 4-inch diameter post into one of the holes I dug by rocking the bit back and forth in different directions to enlarge the hole, after first clearing it of dirt from the initial drilling. I used it for "planting" wooden posts, not for planting plants.Good purchase that is worth the price.

This auger is solid; itβs very well designed for homeowners and light commercial work. Everything about it has a reason, from the bright orange coating, which makes it rust-free and easy to see, to the length and the non-sharp edges of the twist and the tang that can fit into an ordinary drill. This auger will definitely save you time and energy without causing blisters. Itβs very functional; I used another auger that I have for work when we have to bury conduit or UF cable, but itβs not as beefy as this one, and I canβt wait to use this one. When it comes to owning tools that make things so much easier and more efficientβespecially when physical labor is involvedβcost is really not a major concern, and this is a good example.

heavy duty, and will make quick work of preparing my garden, instead of getting on my knees with my spade, by hand. very handy.depending on the strength of the drill, I'm pretty sure this would do fence post holes, and save my back.

This auger works great! I purchased it to make holes in a field for pole beans. We use smaller 2x2 posts, so this worked just right. I used a Ryobi one plus 1/2β cordless drill on the low setting, and it worked fantastic.

I live in arid, southern California, which has notoriously tough soil. It easily digs down, making quick work of digging a two-foot deep whole, about 4 inches in diameter. I just used this to plant a deep root feeding tube in our backyard. This has taken me 10-20 minutes in the past, since our soil is so hard. However, I used this auger and a hand drill to dig a hole in only 2-3 minutes. It dug easily in rocky soil, with only a little bit of paint removal to show for wear. The build quality seems to be good, and it lasted through a tough dig already.

I'm not sure what i'm impressed more by how well the auger performs or how it was packaged? I've had glass items arrive with less thought and packaging than the auger. And all of that to protect the nice looking paint that got scuffed up within the first use. Either way with a 1/2in milwaukee drill i had no issues going into even rocky soil, that is as long as it was small pebble like rocks. For the larger ones i had to go around or expand the hole. Even at full length for depth as long as there is no obstacles the auger will keep drilling down. Great tool to have for planting or helping with digging projects
