Shipping was quick and organized. Packaging was great for the survival of the snails. All 25 arrived alive and healthy. Within minutes most were out of their shells and moving. Will definitely do business with this company again!

These guys are exactly as advertised. Placed them in the pond and found tracks where they are cleaning the rocks the second day.

We converted our pool to a natural pond and wanted to add more diversity to it. Our pond is going into its second year and it has progressed nicely. Our fish are thriving and our pond plants are becoming well established. Frogs and other pond life things have moved in, and so far algae has stayed at bay, which is a big concern.I thought that adding some snails to help keep the pond clean would be a good idea. But, I didn't want a snail that would over populate the pond, leading to a mess that I'd just have to try to clean up later. Trap door snails are supposed to reproduce slower than most snails and I just introduced 10. I hope to maintain a healthy population.Toledo Fish sent my snails quickly and they all arrived looking good. Followed the included directions and the transition went well for them. I was able see a couple of them for a few days, but they have since moved on to deeper waters.Overall, I am happy with my purchase...

I bought 20 for my Koi pond that was gross a few mths ago. I never saw them again after putting them into the pond. I also didn't really look very hard. The. Other day I finally did. They are all still alive trying to clean and clean and clean. During the day they stay at the bottom, I live in Florida so it's very hot. At night they are on the sides. Some reviewers said that they came sickly, stinky, slimy etc. Mine were Black and Big. They are green now, but seem to be happy about it. The water is Crystal Clear now, Just the sides are green. The rocks on the bottom are at least 60% cleaner, and when I check the water ph occasionally It's perfect. Somehow there is a Crawdad or Crawfish in there. I think it must have been with the snails. Extra Bonuus Cleaner:) YaYBottom line. If your reading these reviews, then you need help for your pond. These will do the trick, for sure, and with no chemicals. Also the Lilly pad is happier, and Blooms constantly.

They did not all arrive alive. The smell was horrible when I opened the bag. Less than half survived the first week. Granted, a lot were small but I paid too much money for that many to die.

I am amazed at the size and health of the these Trapdoor snails. They arrived very quickly, were packed in water in an insulated box with a cold pack. I was impressed because we had ordered similar snails from another source, (The Pond Guy) and were very disappointed, that's another story. Toledo provided proper instructions for acclimating the snails. They are now happily munching away cleaning our pond. We will purchase more in the near future. Well worth the money as a natural way to keep the algae under control.

I ordered 5 snails and received 9. Arrived quickly. Packing was excellent. Snails are bigger than I expected. Within 15 minutes all 9 were happily scooting around the quarantine tank, munching algae. Yes, they do stink...the smell is one I distinctly remember from mucking around in ponds and mud holes looking for "treasures" when I was a kid! I would imagine that some time in a nice quarantine tank will cut down on or eliminate the mud smell.update: after 12 hours in clean water snails have NO SMELL at all. All at work stripping algae from tank.
