This is a really nice tank. It is sturdy and well made, it is pretty and a good size for a beta, and comes with everything but fish and food!

This was an awful experience. The filter current was too strong and poorly positioned. It pushed my fish around and he couldn't get to his food. Had to buy ANOTHER new tank for the poor guy.

I picked up this 2-gallon glass tank kit originally thinking it might work for a betta, but honestly… it’s just way too small for that. I wouldn't feel right keeping a betta in here long-term, even though it’s marketed as a "betta tank." That being said, I ended up repurposing it for my cherry shrimp and a couple nano species, and for that use—it’s actually pretty great.✅ The tank looks super sleek. The glass is clear, the edges are clean, and it has a nice modern vibe to it. It doesn’t look cheap or plasticky, which is a huge plus when it’s sitting out in a visible space.✅ Built-in filtration is hidden and quiet, which I really appreciate. It keeps the water circulating just enough without creating a crazy whirlpool—perfect for delicate shrimp that don’t want to be blasted around.✅ The light it comes with is surprisingly decent. I wouldn’t use it for high-demand plants or anything fancy, but for low-light setups it gets the job done. Bonus points that it doesn’t overheat the tank.✅ Small footprint = easy to find space. I’ve got this on a bookshelf, and it’s light enough that moving it (while empty) is no big deal. But yeah, I’ve got to be honest about the downsides too…❌ Way too small for a betta. I don’t care how many times they slap “betta tank” on the box—2 gallons is just not enough. Bettas need swimming space, enrichment, and stable parameters. I wouldn’t recommend it for that purpose.❌ No room for customization. Because the filtration system is built in and takes up some space, you’re not left with a ton of interior room to scape or decorate. It’s fine for a simple shrimp tank, but don’t expect to get super creative in here.❌ Lid feels a little flimsy, and it doesn’t always sit flush. It’s not a dealbreaker, but I’ve had to fuss with it more than I’d like. I actually replaced my lid with a DIY version to keep my shimp in.❌ You’re going to be doing top-offs often. The small volume means water evaporates fast, especially if you’ve got the light on a timer. If you’re not used to shrimp tanks or small volumes, keep that in mind.Overall, I wouldn’t call this a “starter tank” unless you’re specifically going for something tiny and low-maintenance like shrimp. For a betta? Nope. But as a compact shrimp display, it’s clean, simple, and honestly kind of fun to work with. Just know what you’re getting into before you grab it. REMEMBER: Smaller tanks require MORE upkeep as they are more prone to easy parameter swings! Stay on top of the water changes!

My sons wanted a pet and a beta is a perfect trial option. This tank is well built, albeit small, but the quality is great. I haven't found it to be noisy, and the filter has been working well, and no dead fish, just a healthy one.Great option for a starter kit.

Nice tank. Comes with everything you need. This tank is small - one Betta fish or maybe 5 or 6 white mountain minnows would be all this tank would accommodate. If you house a Betta in this tank, and you live in a colder climate, you should get a heater. A small 10 or 15 watt should suffice, and should be able to fit in the filter baffle area. The light is really nice, and bright enough, IHMO, to support low-light plants. The downside, however, is that this light has a soft-switch to turn it on. That means that you cannot put the light on a timer. Once power is taken away, the light will not come on again unless you press the button again. You will have to turn it on and off manually, which is sort of a pain, especially if you need the light to support plant life. If you are clever, you may be able to bypass the switch wiring so the light will be constantly on when powered, but that is only for people who know what they are doing.

What you will immediately notice is how clean the design is and how heavy the aquarium is for its size. The filtration design provides ample room for biological media, a heater, and filtration pad. The clip-on light with level control and timer is flexible and perfect for low light plants. Even at the lower setting the water flow rate may be a touch too strong for long fin betta, but with a small piece of filter sponge and some ingenuity, you can easily dampen the flow. The rimless aquarium designed is stellar. The black background and sides covering the back filtration portion of the aquarium puts all the focus on the fish and decor. The UHA glass with 92% light transmittance and low reflectivity looks fantastic. Plenty of room for Anubias nana on lava rock with red root floaters.
