0 STAR. Put on my starter wire then attached to the battery as I was tightening it down the plastic on the bottom broke on the starter wire side fell and. Never even had a chance to use it the way it was designed. Cheap plastic crap. Do not waste your money. Either jt was already flawed when I received it or it's just that poorly made either way it is a hazard. If it broke while driving the alternator could have been damaged or possibly a fire. I would give it 10 Zero star rating if I could.

This battery disconnect switch looks and feels very durable with quality plastic and components overall. Hooked this up to my main startup battery on my boat and it works as it should. Very happy with the quality and functionality of this battery disconnect switch!

When your battery is accessible it is good to have a disconnect installed like this product. It has given me a chance to preserve my battery from freak drainage, some electronics state they will turn off with no battery drain but still the battery goes dead over time. With this installed and battery disconnected the battery stays charged up and ready to use when you are ready. I've added this one to my boat keeping the battery on charge at the same time. Another idea I had was to have two batteries connected but separated by two disconnects so one can be used as primary and one an alternate battery so I can stay out all weekend with peace of mind. This product is easy to install but does take up some space so you need to ensure you have a little extra space for the install.

This is comparable to any brand of this style that I’ve seen.Pros: operates just as expected, easy easy install, easy operation, plastic seems to be good quality and hand deteriorated under heat of engine yetCons: the brass (unsure if that’s even what it is) is incredibly cheap. Looks like the gold has been sprayed on essentially. It does conduct electricity obviously, so it must be some form of conductive metal, but just looks and feels very cheap. Don’t take on and off too much and I can promise to much flexing on that will bottle cap the metal apart/break.

I really like this product and it was easy to install, with one small hiccup. As instructed, I placed the disconnect switch on the negative side battery terminal for my boat's trolling motor. My hiccup was that the inner diameter of the eyelet for the wire's connection to the battery was slightly too small to fit over the 3/8" bolt threads. That is because the Interstate SRM-27 battery that is specified for the boat has 5/16" screw terminals. That forced me to use a round rat tail metal file in my drill for a few minutes, to wallow out the eyelet a bit so that the larger 3/8" bolt would pass through it.On the battery side, the battery's 5/16" screw terminal passed through the disconnect switch's 3/8" hole with ease and then the 5/16" nut that I already had on the battery was used to tighten the disconnect switch to the battery terminal. In addition to the provided flat washers, I chose to add a couple of stainless steel lock washers to my installation, to help me feel more secure about the nuts/bolts not backing off.
