The bracket was well made of welded steel with a semi-gloss black painted exterior.I used 4 lag screws with lock washers to secure to the side of a shed to mount a weather vane. I looked over several options and this was the most cost effective solution. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of construction.

The name of the item, and the small screw on the arm of the bracket, makes it appear that the bracket extends outward, but it does not; it is welded in place. So, if you have an overhang of more than about 4-5 inches, this bracket will not work for you.
