When I received this cap, I was impressed with it's thickness and overall robust feel. After I installed it, I was less impressed because of the shallow thread engagement (only 2 or 3 threads).Now, I have no cap, as it didn't even survive it's first car wash. A deeper thread engagement would have made this cap more resistant to tearing off under the brushes.

Item is nice and thick. I'm sure it works well on NMO bases that it fits. For mine, the thread pattern is different than the thread pattern on my NMO base. It stays on, but doesn't provide the advertised coverage. Also, because this item is plastic, after a couple of tries it gets cross-threaded. Eventually it will be so stripped out it won't stay on. Until then, some coverage is better than none. Not worth sending back. I''ll find another solution.

Does what it says, used to cover an NMO mount on a vehicle that no longer had a radio installed. Its plastic, but very heavy plastic. I'm sure it will last a long time. The bottom has an O-ring to secure tightly and form a waterproof seal.

This nmo cap works great on my mobile setup. I purchased this, so I could take off my 2m half wave antenna when driving down very brushy roads. I can now turn off my radio and place this on knowing dust and water will stay out. When I'm not using this I just put it in the ash tray.

For just a few bucks I was only expecting some thin plastic cap that'll just keep the sun off. But no, this thing is very well built. It even has a thick o ring in the bottom to completely seal off your NMO connection from all the elements. 10/10 would recommend getting one of these if you ever even think of removing your antenna.
