I wish I'd read reviews first. It resonates really low, like 23 or 24 mhz. I measured with antenna analyzer and then started cutting the whip. Best swr I could get was 2.1 to 1. It was also very dependent on the length of the coax, another sign I think that there is something not quite right about that bottom loading coil. It would be interesting sometime when I have time, to figure out exactly what is wrong with it. So anyway I swapped in a firestik 2 foot, and had 1.5 to 1 right off without even trying to fine tune it, so there is a problem with this antenna, at least trying to use it on U.S CB frequencies.

L'assemblage est toute croche. Très fragile. Pour utilisation fixe à la maison peut-être. Vous aurez besoin d'un tuner pour obtenir un bon ratio SWR.

Made a skip contact on the lower 38 SSB to Amsterdam. It's a good antenna if you have a mag base! If you don't have a mag base it's almost useless as there's no ground plane. With a mag base on the other hand well speaks for its self. 4 stars as it missed one due to no mention of this required hardware. Update your product description and I'll change it to 5 stars.

Straight out of the box, the antenna was tuned to ... 22.6MHz. There is absolutely no way it can be tuned to 27 MHz with the existing loading coil and the whip. Moreover, the low-SWR bandwidth is very narrow.

The item arrived promptly, and was packaged fairly well. The actual construction looked a bit contrived, with a piece of rubber hose at the base, and a overly flexible midshaft loading coil. No instructions were included, but you don't need them.First test was continuity in a number of SO-239 bases, both magnetic and trunk based. There was some give on the rubber hose on tightening, and continuity was very inconsistent on the trunk mount. I didn't feel comfortable using on that, and tried a few mag mounts. These seemed a bit more stable, but not perfect.Frequency behavior was determined with several industry standard meters, with disappointing results.VSWR on the trunk mount in open air was 1.7 at 25.6 MHz, with the antenna whip fully retracted. This means cutting the whip, which isn't the first thing an 11 meter (or 10 meter) user wants to do.On the mag mounts, the VSWR nulled at 1.6 at 26.5 MHz; again, not terribly impressive.I would not recommend this for the weekend traveler. This is not a solidly constructed antenna, and I replaced it with my old standard. It is certainly not value for money.
