First, Amazon sent me someone else's reject/return, with the plastic packaging ripped open. Not cool.Second, a "dual band" antenna means the antenna is designed and intended to cover two bands once set up or installed; in other words, you should be able to switch between UHF (70cm or GMRS bands) and VHF (2m band) without altering the antenna. Here, you're provided a "kit" with 2-sets of ground radials: one set of 3 radials for UHF, and one set of 3 radials for VHF. Clearly this does not comport with the "dual band" designation. My intention was to use this antenna for a portable setup, so I would need the radials. Unfortunately, I intended to use this for a dual band radio, and for that purpose it will not work for me.Third, the antenna does not seem to be properly tuned for the portions of the respective bands where you need and expect a low SWR. If you look at the review that includes the NanoVNA screenshots, you'll note the following (which I confirmed with my own testing): The SWR is highest on the repeater input or transmit portions of the licensed bands - exactly where you want and need the SWR to be lowest. In other words, the SWR is lower on the receive portions of the bands where nobody cares; however, it's near 2:1 and sometimes higher on the +5 MHz offset for the UHF bands (both 70cm and GMRS), and about the same in the 144-148 MHz range (2 meter ham band). There are many factors/variables that will affect your SWR, so you will not see identical results. But this is what I found while testing literally out of the box. That said, a 2:1 SWR might be just fine for your situation. If you're already full quieting into your local repeaters with a duck, using this antenna won't make a bit of difference. Or maybe this antenna will be just what you need to make it into an otherwise iffy repeater. You just need to go in with eyes open and with expectations checked.

This was put on my mag mount on my SUV. The SWR was was 1.3 and that's ok. I have a Gp9 antenna on my 50 foot tower and I used my repeater to test this out. I drove and kept getting 5-9 reports back up to 19 miles and then lower reads and signal to about 24 miles. The ground plane radials were effective.

I bought as a back up antenna for my GMRS. When set up, it works well for its size. I use it on my camper when I'm camping, and was impressed by the range.

I don’t broadcast out ever, basically just listen. I can hear not only local fire and medical more clearly. But can pickup my kids school radio traffic a mile away. The ground plane seems to be well made and helpful. Glad I pulled the trigger on this one.

It is an interesting design but it works. Not going to get out like a Comet or Diamond but it is functional. Figured I give it a try for the price and the new SUV doesn't give me many mounting options so Mag Mount it is.
