The clamp work surface is designed with holes that can hold the 8 pins included in multiple positions to insure a secure hold. The clamp opens to 5/8" wide. I was furious when I tried to fit the pegs , and all eight of them were too fat to fit. I first thought about reboxing them and returning, but I needed it to finish a job. My solution was to reduce the peg diameter a few thousandths and then fit them into the holes. I mounted some 100 micron diamond film to my desktop, chucked the pegs into my Foredom and spun them down to size in short order.Everything else about the device is top notch, well machined, good fit and finish and works well. Just be aware you may have to trim the fat from the pegs.

This where my rings go to be finished. My only complaint is that it moves easily. I have to hold it in.place when I'm working on a thick bezel.
