This is a nice metal unit.My live-in aide has a newer laptop that does not support video output from the USB-C, which is just a data port and for charging.So this unit acts as a video hub when you plug in the unit into a high speed (USB 3.0 or faster) it will add a bunch of devices to your PC, both audio and video outputs which you can then configure how you want.It did also work on my old laptop with 3.0 however i do not have a 4K monitor or TV to test how many monitors this old laptop can handle and at what resolutions.Since this is plug and play for Windows 10 as long as you have the system power to run those extra monitors you can use this with all types of PCs.I did not have to use the USB-C power input during use, I think that is more of a extra port to charge while the unit is using the only USB-C port. I did get a device connected for data through that port as well.I has a connected USB-A to USB-C adapter which is nice because my old laptop only as A types.Thanks! Hope this Helps.

This adapter has been a great help for my multi-monitor setup. I work with a lot of different applications open at once, and this allows me to have four extended displays, which is super helpful — I can finally stop constantly minimizing windows. Setting it up was incredibly easy; I just plugged it in, and it worked right away. The video quality is great, with crisp images, and I haven't experienced any lag or glitches. I mainly use it for work, but I've also tested it with some games, and it handles them pretty well too 🎮. Plus, the added USB ports are a nice bonus; I can plug in all my accessories without issue. I've used it daily for a couple weeks now; so far, so good.

This 4-way HDMI adapter is a net positive for expanding my workspace across four monitors. Setting up mirror/extend modes was seamless after installing the required driver (a quick download, though slightly tedious). Once configured, it delivered flawless picture quality on all four monitors, two of which are 4K, making it perfect for multitasking between design work, spreadsheets, and video calls.While the initial driver setup was definitely an annoyance, the performance justifies the effort. This device is a good concept. It allows you to connect up to four screens but there are limitation and issues with using this for four screens. This is good for productivity at work but it does not allow you to do quite a few things. First thing is that you do need to install the drivers in order for this to work. Also for the best results, I found the best thing is to use the type c. It will work with thunderbolt ports but this is not a thunderbolt plug. The device gives you plenty of cable slacks you do not have to have this right next to your device. There are four hdmi ports and one plug in port for externa device. This device cannot be a charging medium for your laptop from what I can tell. It cannot play things from streaming services which is noted on the description. It is due to the software. It is not a plug in play and you do have to install the driver in order for it to work. The drivers are not hard to find. This does not work with linux or chrome OS due to no drivers for it. It does work with my mac but I did not see if the M1 and M2 work well with this. You can use either type c or usb. The USB adapter is connected to the type c so it is harder to lose the adapter. The display quality is not bad if you are just using this for work things like documentation and such. It does have some flickering here and there and it disconnects randomly for a few seconds which I had to get used to. The device is compact and durable for the most part. The cable feels a little thin but it is something you can take on the go as needed. Overall this device does work as it is suppose to with some small flaws here and there. It is able to split into four monitors although limited to just work instead of streaming but that is okay. The driver and setup is pretty straight forward. The only down side is that it does flicker here and there on my screen and there is disconnect. The plug was not touched or hit and i tried re plugging it a few times but still has that issue. I can live with it but may not work for some.

This supports power-in but that may not be needed depending on the ports you're using. For example, mine is connected to a hub that has the mac's power supply running to it. This seems to be enough to keep enough power running through. I am using all 1080p though. Using a couple 4k may up the power demand but, it wouldn't be hard to run a cable from the hub to the power on this.It's ince. Prior to this, I had a couple different HDMI splliters. I have multiple computers running at all times and use my Mac as a "hub". When it's sat in place here, it gets connected to 3 or 4 monitors depending on the day. I was extremely happy to find this. In the past, I've never found anything with more than 2 outputs.Just make sure you read the instructions to install the drivers if you actually want something to display! With this being a little fancier than a simpler splitter, there is a driver requirement. There are links provided for both Windows and Mac.Clarity is good. No lag. I cannot speak of sound at the moment, I simply don't use it through any of these monitors.Less wires is always a win.
