I was really really hoping to connect a USB-C portable monitor to a teradici (like a terminal for a remote computer), but the cable didn't seem to carry power to the monitor (it's bus powered only). Or the teradici just didn't like the monitor - also totally possible, though I don't actually know if DVI carries power. In any case, this cable did connect an old monitor (not the usb-c one) to my laptop - so I can confirm that it works as advertised. It's hard to come by this kind of cable these days, so I'm glad to have one that works, even if it doesn't carry power.
