I bought the first of these for my daughter to support her working from home. It worked well for a few days, but then stopping allowing connection to the Ethernet. It would also somehow interfere with the fallback WiFi connection (I’m not that techy, so didn’t understand that) - Mac worked fine once adaptor unplugged. The seller was excellent and sent a replacement straightaway and this has worked well for about 18 months. This morning, out of the blue and without anything changing on the set up, the adapter just stopping working again. It would allow power and the mouse / keyboard plugged in were still Ok, but no internet and again my daughter couldn’t access WiFi until it was unplugged. This is a useful adapter so we will persevere, but tech like this shouldn’t fail in this way. I will be contacting the seller again about this.

In case you're like me and my colleage, receiving a new work device pc that only has USB C, no regular USB, no ethernet, and no HDMI, you might be tempted to look for a hub and prefer the concept of the hub to plug directly into the laptop chassis (which seem to be an exclusively for-Mac design) and not add to the mess of cables on your desk (which seems to be what pcs are relegated to). You might measure the distance between the ports of your device (8mm) and compare it to those for the Mac (8mm) and think this might fit. Sadly not. It seems as though there is 1mm too much separation in the Dell versus the Mac.The quality and styling of the hub felt very nice. It was hefty and metallic in my hand, whilst being compact. I would have loved to use it. I'm sure from reviews and from this that it is a great device. Just don't risk it for a windows device, even if the stylings of the chassis are strangely similar to the Mac.This review is just to confirm it won't fit, seeing as at the time of my purchase, there was nothing actually talking about trying this hub with anything other than Mac. Hope this can help one or two of you!

This is good for increasing functionality of a MacBook however I found that it was annoying as it did not fit over my case so if I have to use it I have to remove the bottom case from the MacBook. Also the USB ports are poorly positioned from an ease of use and predictability perspective. The fast USB port is actually facing the user and so not in a good position. Also the ports available are so close to each other that you would not be able to use them all at the same time as your wires would not physically fit using widely available wiring and cabling that may come with TVs, phones, usb memory sticks or other smart devices. Also when I have to insert the device into the MacBook, it actually is upside down compared to the photo and the branding is on the wrong side - from a design perspective it really lets the device down for what would otherwise look quite nice and sleek

A useful multi-port adapter, especially for the 2016+ MacBook Pro. It's neatly designed with a good array of ports. The space grey metal finish matches Apple's colour well and it's beautifully made with a high quality finish. As advertised it only has one Thunderbolt 3 port, the second similar port is USB-C only and can't be used for charging etc. That wasn't an issue for me but I did want the advertised 2 x USB 3.0 ports. Unfortunately, contrary to the product description (at time of writing), the adapter does not have 2 x USB 3.0 ports. It actually only has 1 x USB 3.0 port and 1 x USB 2.0 port. I initially wondered if I'd been sent the wrong product, but a quick look at the various customer photos supplied with numerous reviews from the past few months proved that the same product has been supplied to everyone. So please bear in mind that the front facing port is actually a slower USB 2.0 type.A fairly good product for the price, but it would be better if it really did have 2 x USB 3.0 ports.

Absolutely perfect for the MacBook Pro - with its lack of USB ports and card reader! This makes up for everything the Pro is missing. It is plug and play straight out of the box - plug it in and then you can plug in up to 3 USB devices at the same time along with an SD card and a Micro SD card at the same time!Very good investment, and has saved me lots of hassle and a USB port! So far with a few weeks use, I haven’t noticed any issues or had any complaints with it. It’s worked every time.It is made from a metal body and does have a nice weight to it. It’s not a cheaply made, flimsy plastic hub. This one does have a bit of style about it.
