These walkie talkies come in terrible packaging, which is the first thing you notice. But the radios themselves are decent, with 22 channels and up to 3km of distance. These are designed for smaller kids, but my 12-year old was not interested in them since they seemed a bit childish. What I love about them is that they are rechargeable, since I always leave the AAA batteries in them for the ski slopes, and come back the following year to find them completed leaked with battery acid. These don't have that problem!

This is our 3rd set of toy walkie talkies for my 5 year old. The first one seemed to be very high quality but had all kinds of usability issues. The second one was cheap junk. This one seems to be in the goldilocks sweet spot.The walkie talkies actually function, although my son has a hard time keeping the push to talk button down all the way. The sound quality is acceptable for a child's toy. Everything works as it should. Battery life has been adequate. Nothing has fallen off or snapped in half yet, and we're not gentle with his toys.My one big complaint is that the beep sound when he pushes buttons isn't adjustable and is annoyingly loud. Parents will understand the pain of an annoying, beeping toy. The volume of the people communicating can be adjusted from very soft to quite loud, but the beeping itself is just set at one volume. Same with the ring/page sound it makes.It seems these might share frequencies with more commercial grade equipment. We left one on by accident and in the morning it was picking up some signals from some kind of nearby workers, which started before he woke up and kind of freaked him out. But that's not really a knock on these, just something to note. Make sure you turn them off before bed!All in all, these seem to be just right for a kid's toy and I don't have any problem recommending them after a week of use. If they fail miserably in a short period of time, I'll come back and update this review.

The kids are obsessed. I got ne pair for free through Vine and I ordered another set so I could cover all the kids (including myself). These are fun. We are having a lot of fun.They are loud, but walkie talkies are usually loud. Lots of big noises.These are a great option for kids. The price point is appropriate for anticipated handling and loss.

I knew this listing said it was for kids, but I ordered them for my husband and I to use at our off grid home. He works in the barn across the yard, and is often out plowing our road this time of year, so this is perfect for checking in if someone calls, or to let him know lunch is ready or something. I imagine these are perfect for children to play with - I would have loved these as a kid!The instructions are a bit confusing for me, but once it is set up, it works as it should. There is no light to indicated when charged, but there is a battery icon that flashes while charging and is solid when charged fully. The "flashlight" that is on it is pretty weak, but again, these are for kids so I think it would be fun under a tent or pillow fort.The range listed on this was 3km, and it has 22 channels. These are rechargeable so when we have power running, we can plug them in to charge.You can set the volume and I like that there is a button you can hit and it rings like a telephone. Often my husband will not hear me on the walkie talkie with the surrounding noise in the shop, so the ringer function is loud and gets his attention. It allows you leave it on the counter and not have to carry it on your side to hear a transmission, too.Our current walkie talkies use batteries and have some weight to them. They are made for adults and we use them for outdoor activities. However, the buttons are easily pressed and at times will switch channels if you bump against something. These will not switch channels if you accidentally hit a button because you need to long press 'menu' before changing a channel. I like that feature.Since these are made for "kids" they are super lightweight, which is great if it's hanging around your neck on the lanyard, or clipped to a pocket. The size is small - only about four inches high and would be easy for little hands to grip. I really wanted pink ones but my husband would not have used them, so I got the camo and they're cool enough for him. lolWe just used them this morning because our pipes had frozen in these frigid temps and my husband had to crawl under the cabin to try and fix the problem. He was able to alert me to turn on and shut off the pump breaker and faucets when needed. They worked great! Now when he gets the plow fixed, I'll see how they work when he's out on our road!These are great! I would recommend this product for kids, and even for adults for around the home.

My son absolutely loves his USHINING Walkie Talkie for Kids, and it has swiftly become his go-to device for outdoor play. He uses it to coordinate adventures with the neighbor kids, turning simple backyard games into exciting missions. They've set up a base station in our treehouse, and with the walkie talkies, they're able to communicate from various corners of our neighborhood as if they're on secret spy missions. The durability of the USHINING Walkie Talkies is impressive; they've survived numerous drops and weather conditions unscathed. It's heartwarming to see my son so actively engaged in imaginative play, fostering teamwork and communication skills while having a blast with his friends.
