Whoever makes these cables need to go back to cable-making school. Pin 1 should not "swap sides" on the cable, i.e., one connector was installed backwards. These IDC connectors are "keyed," not universal, so you either need to carefully remove and flip one of the connectors, or grind the key off one of the connectors.
