Dimension:

Valve Spring Compressor Tool

  • 1. Pneumatic operated valve holder designed for 14mm and 18mm diameter spark plug holes, commonly found on all LS engine platforms.
  • 2. The other end is a 1/4" female NPT which can easily be connected to air hose quick connect fittings. 14mm is the standard spark plug size for most all domestic and foreign vehicles. Actual part may vary from picture.
  • 3. This tool is used when installing valve springs while the cylinder head is installed on the engine.
  • 4. Just be sure to maintain the air pressure within the cylinder while performing the spring change.
  • 5. Simply place the cylinder you are working on at top dead center, thread the tool into the spark plug hole, and fill the cylinder with compressed air.
  • 6. This tool allows the combustion chamber/cylinder to be filled with compressed air, which holds the valve closed while the valve spring is exchanged.

Works great, wish it pushed down the spring like 2mm further before it bottoms out, to make getting the keeper off slighlty easier , but it works, upgrade the main bolt and use grease and it seems like it will last for plenty of springs. Do not use any type of power tools either, jus a ratcheting wrench works jus fine

Im not a engine builder, doing this one and only (hopefully)Worked great for my job but i don't think it has much more left. Threads are wearing, it has a slight bend. already. May be able to do 1 more set of heads but past that would be pushing it.If you just need something to do a job for and save a few bucks this is a winner. if you rebuild engine's for a living.... you arnt reading this and probably own a much better tool already.

Bought different similar amazon listings a couple days ago. It had a burr on treading adjustment plate I had to remove to thread. The a chrome nut stripped might have been my springs rated at 340 lb (chinese pac1219 equivalent). Bought 280 springs instead install worked with new included extra chome nut but was not happy with overall impression of tool for 30.00 cost and returned itGot this one about 6 dollars cheaper. Packaging much better. And full color instructions! Black bolts - should be high tensile - vs chrome. A definite win.

Don’t buy this product, it is cheap and will break when you use it. Find another option I do not recommend this tool unless you want to waste money and buy another one.

Bought this to try out. I have used several other types of spring installers in the past.Ok so, this tool out of the box is a one engine or 2 head job tool. By the end of the first LS head the drive bolt was stripped in the center, swapped out the long bolt for the extra that comes with the kit and same result on the other head. By the time I was done the tool was basically trash. I went and bought grade8 replacement bolts and hardware (extra 8$) amd rebuilt the tool.

Weak brittle metal, bent when used with aftermarket springs. Threads stripped easy as well. The tool comes with no assembly instructions either.
