This item was not nearly strong enough for my 2010 Tundra tailgate! I returned it. I put it on, tested it and the tailgate just slammed down. I even tried reversing it but was the same. It was like it wasn't even there! I put the old one that was worn out back on and it had more resistance even though it is leaking. It's very cheap and flimsy. Don't recommend! Should have know for the price. I would expect to pay close to $100 for a good replacement. I'm ordering a Genuine Toyota part.
