I truly like it. You can download ring tones. However not fond of the blight light under it. I have to explore settings more. Easy mount, plug, play and walk away

I bought this for my apartment and love it! Allows my camera to be permanently up, but unable to be stolen by passersby. Buyers should know that this makes shutting the door a little more difficult and the door frame can have some damage over time (however, you want it snug). Easy to take down and replace (for battery powered devices that need to be recharged).

Fits perfectly!!!!! Easy to assemble and no holes needed to be drilled- not until my lady got home. And then yes, holes were drilled. Multiple times. So yeah- good product!

I returned the item because it doesn’t fit my camera. However, the door mount itself is completely metal and the pilot holes for the screws in the pieces of plastic have metal so it is made of durable material. It has only ranked 3/5 because I could not put the product to real use so I can’t vouch for durability.

Pros:–Able to properly and slightly modify backplate to accommodate my XTU J6 wireless video door bell–This design allows easy access to my USB charging port without having to remove it from the door or mounting bracket (that was a necessity for my purchase)–Includes a small screwdriver in case buyers don’t have one–Includes more than enough adhesive felt pads to fill large gaps for a snug fit–Works well if you cannot, or don’t want to, drill into the entry door or door frameCons:–Price was a little higher than I thought it should be but the door bell design limited my choices.–Wish they would offer either 1-1/2 or 2-1/2" wide door mounting plates–the wide gap looks a little tacky from inside the house on a standard entry door frame.Other thoughts:–Pay attention this mount is primarily intended for “wireless” door bells and is installed on a moving entry door where electric wires are not available.–Purchased this device knowing it wasn’t marketed for my XTU J6 wireless door bell but knew I could modify it with a Dremel tool to fit, which it does. Had to cut a couple small channels on the rear mounting plate because my door bell has two rear protruding stubs for security screws. The modifications are not visible unless you remove the camera from the mounting plate. Had to use only one adhesive pad to fill a small gap between the bottom of the camera housing and frame.–Modification to installation took about 30 minutes, otherwise sure it could be done in 10 minutes.

I bought this hoping for an easier alternative to constantly unscrewing it to charge it. Well this thing is horrible. You have to stick it in a box and line it with foam to keep it from moving, the box has no holes to block so now you’re unscrewing even more complicated screws to remove it from the box. Then when it is mounted the majority of your view is the door jamb because it’s so close to the wall it doesn’t see anything else with the night vision. I returned it the next day it was not worth the money or headaches.

I realize everybody’s not mechanically inclined but I happen to be. And if you just read the instructions all the way through first for the installation you’ll be fine. Just look at all the sizes of the screws etc. I had to get the bracket because I do live in an apartment unit. And the bracket was easy to understand just make sure you look at your door and how it opens whether to the left or to the right so that when you put the bracket on it coincides with the direction of your door. I love this RING device. It’s great for me because I’m physically permanently disabled. I do live on the first floor and even though the town that I live in has zero crime rate I believe there’s always a first time and I’m just not used to living on the first floor so I have a door in the front and in the back where there’s some French doors so I’m thinking of getting one for the rear door. I would recommend this to anyone I got the ring doorbell 4. I also bought the chime which is a real no-brainer you just plug it in after you scan the code on the back and you can choose your chime sound on your Ring app on the phone. The video quality is outstanding as I used to work for a very well known security company so I’ve seen different videos. This one is in color and it has CCa night vision ability built in and I was surprised that the range of being able to view was as good as it was. I live in a unit that’s not facing the street it’s facing just the landing of the apartment whereas the other person next to me is facing straight out however it does capture people walking on the sidewalk approaching my apartment. Just remember to follow the instructions as to how high you installed the bracket if you get the wireless model. I believe it’s 48 inches from the ground. That worked out perfectly for me you can see the entire person whether they’re 4 foot tall or 6 feet tall with plenty of room either way. I highly recommend this model.
