was having trouble with my doorbell not picking up until someone was right at the door. We mounted this and have had better results but my porch is very high. easy set up and worth the money to have your doorbell more functional. This item is for houses with siding otherwise with the backing that comes with it your doorbell will be slanted upwards,

Product fits over the vinyl siding just fine. The screws provided with the product however have to large a head to sit flush, with the RING Doirbell mounting plate, provided with the RING Doorbell. With the screws not sitting flush, the RING Doorbell would not fasten, and hold to the RING Doorbell mounting plate. I had to modify the plate in order to get the screws to set flush.

I tried to install my Ring Camera without this and no such luck. So glad I found it on the Amazon website. My siding is 4 1/2 inch and it fits perfectly. Is a piece of plastic expensive, sure but it's worth every penny to be able to solve the problem.

I know it says it not made for Dutch lap siding but it worked great on mine considering there aren’t many good options for it. Easy to install and very solid. Looks great.
