This humble Kitchen aide base works better than the brandname original. We always had a problem with the bowl jumping out of the original base. KitchenAide did send us a new bowl but that didn't help, and they didn't believe it was the base. So we passed out and bought this base. Works perfectly.

Bought a new kitchen aid and needed a new base. I have no idea what I was doing. It was a nice fit and very easy to use. It’s very sturdy and was easy to change out.

I have an old KitchenAid K 45 mixer manufactured before 1979. This replacement bowl lock is far better than the original stamped sheet metal lock. The flanges have no chance of shearing off like the old plate did. It holds the bowl solidly in place.
