We have a building with cement floors and got this to go under the rungs to help add some cushion and keep the rugs from sliding all over. This is a great rug pad and does the job perfectly.

Works well for my livingroom, the ends do sta up a little but I think it's because of how long I had it in the box. I can't really tell since most of my furniture goes over the top of the edges

Make no mistake, this product has functioned exactly as expected. There were no smell issues. The mat feels well enough constructed. The non-slip functionality works well. However, the mat itself cost as much as the rug I purchased. Perhaps if you have a very expensive rug that could use some extra cushioning, this might be a good options. For me though, I would just buy another rug to hide under the rug I purchased in the future.
