Some elastic connections are needed between the tarsal bones, especially the navicular, lateral cuniform and the cuboid. Essentially the lateral arch got folded underneath the bones of the medial arch.

Bones are attached by elastic so you can move the foot around. Excellent model for seeing how all the bones/joints are affected by movement or position changes.

I was not happy with this purchase. Considering that it's elasticated the pieces are not held together in a manner that one can manipulate the movement of the parts of the foot in a way that is educational. Also the pieces themselves were not well constructed for the price.

Terrible placement of the elastic bands and deformed bones that do not resemble a normal foot. Material is good but its as if they have casted a deformed foot with multiple pathologies like hammertoe, flat foot and etc.

This is a great ankle model. Like the other user said this is a very elastic model. This model is great if you want to be able to pull apart pieces and easily view the inner joint surfaces. It also allows for a greater range of motion than other models. This can be unrealistic if you bend it really far but the elasticity actually allows more accurate movements because they allow for a bit of glide and roll. Most other models have a solid pin through the ankle joint creating a fixed center of rotation which is not accurate. With the more elastic connection you can show more subtle gliding movements. If you want a more rigid show piece get the other models. If you want something where you can really get in and feel how the joints move this is the best model.

Far to flexible and poorly proportioned.
